Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon teases fans with new photos from the sequel
As a die-hard fan of the chilling saga that is Five Nights at Freddy’s, every piece of news and behind-the-scenes glimpse feels like a heart-stopping thrill. The latest updates on the upcoming sequel have me on tenterhooks, especially with Scott Cawthon sharing tantalizing snaps from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. Peering at those images, I can almost feel the cold metal of Freddy’s grinning teeth and Bonnie’s twitching nose under my fingers!
Progress continues smoothly with the eagerly awaited follow-up to “Five Nights at Freddy’s.” Recently, an official theatrical release date was set for Dec. 5, 2025 – a date we’ve been looking forward to! In the meantime, we can satisfy our curiosity with sneak peeks from behind the scenes as we eagerly await the horror movie’s arrival.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the popular video game series “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” creator Scott Cawthon treated fans by posting fresh images related to “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” on his X account.
The images were captured at Jim Henson’s Creature Workshop, the special/visual effects studio responsible for both the original movie and its follow-up. He posted four photos that appear to show work in progress on some of the animatronics. One seems to be a snapshot of Freddy, while another resembles Bonnie. Can you take a stab at identifying the others?

Following the excitement generated by the sneak peeks of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 through behind-the-scenes images, Cawthon returned later in the day with an even more exciting revelation for fans. However, there was a catch!
Originally planning to give fans a sneak peek into the script for the sequel, Cawthon playfully included the pages as a mini game. However, here’s the twist… Out of the four shared pages, only one is authentic from the actual Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 screenplay. Can you spot the real page among the fakes that follow?

To mark the end of a decade-long journey, Cawthon visited X once more to express his appreciation for the fans’ unwavering support throughout these years. He conveyed, “I want to thank each and every one of you for making the last ten years extraordinary. I’m grateful for your presence as we celebrate this anniversary together. Seeing the affection for Freddy and the crew has been truly touching, it validates all our efforts!”
At this point, specifics about the plot and cast for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 remain undisclosed. However, Emma Tammi, the director of the original movie, is set to return for the sequel’s direction. It’s speculated that Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, and Matthew Lillard might reprise their roles as well, though this hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.
It appears that Lillard will indeed be featured in the upcoming sequel, as suggested by his recent interview on the JayBee & Milly YouTube channel. In this interview, he mentioned his plans to film the sequel in October, which seems to indicate a return for fans of the series.
