Fisher Stevens becomes latest celebrity to flee Trump’s America for ‘nicer’ life in UK

Fisher Stevens has joined Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O’Donnell in leaving the United States, reportedly due to the current political climate under President Trump’s second term.

The 61-year-old Academy Award winner recently shared that he relocated his family from the United States to London within the past two months.

Okay, so you won’t BELIEVE this! I packed up my whole family – my wife and our two kids, who are 12 and 9 – and we just moved to London about eight weeks ago! Honestly, we were just feeling like we needed a change of scenery, a break from the U.S. We figured, why not try living in Europe, see what life is like over here in the UK? It’s been a dream of mine for ages, and now it’s actually happening!

 He was joined by his actress wife since 2017, Alexis Bloom, and their two children.

Stevens shared his excitement about his new life, explaining that he and his wife are making documentaries. He also mentioned that having his wife’s parents nearby in London has been a great benefit.

The publication asked if recent political events in the US influenced his decision. He didn’t directly answer, but hinted that he disagrees with the current administration’s environmental policies.

In an interview with People, Stevens discussed a film he made with Leonardo DiCaprio called ‘Before the Flood.’ They spoke with large companies operating in the Amazon, such as Cargill, who pledged to improve their farming practices. However, Stevens noted that a decade later, conditions haven’t improved at all.

He is also producer of Netflix documentary on the Amazon rainforest titled We Are Guardians.

Stevens emphasized the continuing importance of sharing these stories, saying it’s crucial to keep them in the public eye.
