First usage of Tejo in VCT 2025 turns out to be a bust for NAVI
To everyone’s shock, NAVI selected Tejo instead of Karmine Corp for the initial series of VCT EMEA Kickoff 2025, yet their strategy didn’t prove fruitful.
In the new year of VALORANT, Tejo made his debut. Normally, it takes several weeks or more before a fresh map or Agent is introduced in the VALORANT Champions Tour. However, this time around, the newest Initiator was immediately accessible. And it was NAVI from EMEA who were the pioneers in using Tejo during VCT 2025.
In the beginning of VCT EMEA Kickoff 2025, Kyrylo “ANGE1” Karasov selected the Agent. As a seasoned in-game leader, he had high hopes to outsmart Karmine Corp. However, the deployment of Tejo didn’t fully showcase the character’s potential abilities.
NAVI and ANGE1 fall flat with first Tejo selection of VCT 2025
As a gamer, here’s my take on rephrasing the passage in a more conversational and first-person style:
“Alright, let me walk you through our match against KC. We started strong on map one, dominating Abyss to clinch the win. Next, we faced a tough challenge on Bind, where they outplayed us, leading to a 13:2 round count. But we weren’t going down without a fight! On Lotus, with Tejo in tow for a change, we aimed to mix things up during our 2025 VCT Kickoff opener.
The team must regain momentum, and a superb strategy for this could be introducing the latest recruit as a surprise factor against the opponents. Since he lacks previous gameplay footage and has limited experience, it’s highly unlikely anyone would anticipate his inclusion in the initial kickoff series.
It’s quite possible that this decision by ANGE1 wasn’t made impulsively. Given his track record, it seems likely that he and his team had a well-thought-out strategy in mind to draft Tejo against Lotus, should the situation require it. And it appears that they indeed found such a situation.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go well for NAVI; Karmine Corp defeated them again, this time securing a series win of 2:1 following a dominant 13:6 victory in the Lotus map. The third map was dominated by ANGE1, who posted an impressive KDA of 8/15/6. Regrettably, we didn’t get to see much of Tejo’s skills on Attack as NAVI only managed to take one round after the break.
As a devoted fan, I can’t wait for you all to witness Tejo’s debut action in VCT 2025! Here’s hoping NAVI doesn’t abandon the Agent, and that this impressive performance won’t deter other teams. It’s thrilling to see new characters in action, so let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for his brilliance to shine at least once soon!
