As a dedicated gamer and film enthusiast, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of Elliot Page’s new movie, “Close to You.” The trailer for this heartfelt drama has just dropped, and I must say, it looks absolutely captivating.
The first trailer for Elliot Page’s new movie Close to You has landed.
Actor from The Umbrella Academy film takes on the role of Sam, who has been absent from family visits since undergoing a personal transformation.
In the given synopsis, after living in Toronto for four years, the character makes a long-postponed journey to his childhood home to celebrate his father’s birthday. Upon arrival, he faces past hurts and renews a romantic connection with someone from his past.
Among the other notable actors are Wendy Crewson, Peter Outerbridge, Janet Porter, Alex Paxton-Beesley, Daniel Maslany, and David Reale.
Last year, the announcement was made for the film “Close to You” with Dominic Savage, its director, expressing in a statement, “Working with Elliot Page on this heartfelt and distinctive movie exploring love, self-identity, and family has been an extraordinary journey.”
As a passionate gamer immersed in the creative process, I’m incredibly proud of the film we’ve brought to fruition. Working alongside the brilliant Elliot has been an absolute privilege, allowing us to breathe life into this deeply moving, personal, and essential story, which is now ready to captivate audiences on the big screen.
I’m thrilled to share that Viktor Hargreeves, played by Elliot Page, will be back in action for The Umbrella Academy‘s fourth and last installment, premiering on August 8.
In a previous interview, Page hinted at the excitement of the last installment of the popular Netflix series without revealing too much: “I can’t reveal much, but expect more of the signature Hargreeves mayhem and amusement.”
In the last season, we have the return of Tom Hopper portraying Luther, Aidan Gallagher as Five, Robert Sheehan playing Klaus, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison, David Castañeda reprising his role as Diego, and Justin H Min appearing as Ben.
Ritu Arya and Colm Feore will once again take on their characters Lila and Sir Reginald in the upcoming production. Meanwhile, Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally from “Parks and Recreation” have been added to the cast, portraying the roles of doctors Gene and Jean Thibedeau.
The film “Close to You” will hit US cinemas on August 16. A definite release date in the UK is still under wraps. In the meantime, you can stream seasons 1-3 of “The Umbrella Academy” on Netflix. The upcoming season 4 is set to debut on August 8.
