As a seasoned film enthusiast who has witnessed the evolution of Nicole Kidman’s illustrious career, I can confidently say that her latest role in “Babygirl” promises to be a captivating addition to her repertoire. The trailer alone is tantalizing, teasing us with the intricate dance of power and passion between Kidman’s character, Romy, and Harris Dickinson’s Samuel.
In a new development, here’s the first trailer for the seductive mystery film titled “Babygirl“, featuring the captivating performances of Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson.
In this sensual suspense film, Nicole Kidman portrays Romy, a prominent executive, and she develops an intense relationship with the young intern, Samuel (played by Dickinson), who is significantly her junior.
Before it hits theaters in the U.S. later this year and in the UK in January, the initial trailer has been unveiled, depicting a playful chase of romantic pursuit starring the film’s main pair.

Eventually, it becomes evident that something more significant is unfolding, as the duo struggles – physically and symbolically – to assert their superior position within the dynamic of their relationship.
Alongside Kidman and Dickinson, the cast of “Babygirl” also features Antonio Banderas, Sophie Wilde, and Gaite Jansen. Notably, Halina Reijn, renowned for her work in “Bodies Bodies Bodies,” will take on dual roles as director and screenwriter for this production.
In a recent interview, Kidman, who received the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the 81st Venice International Film Festival for her performance, shared that playing the character in Babygirl wasn’t a straightforward process. She characterized the role as requiring a great deal of vulnerability.
She expressed that this situation makes her feel exposed, vulnerable, and terrified, and such feelings are heightened when shared with the public. However, creating it with these specific individuals was a sensitive, personal, and profound experience.

She further disclosed her feelings about the upcoming movie, admitting to being “anxious” regarding its reception, yet expressing great “pride” in the endeavor. This sentiment was heightened because it was led by women.
She went on to say, “I believe that’s what made it so captivating. Working with Halina as my director felt right because I knew she wouldn’t take advantage of me. No matter how others may perceive it, I never felt exploited. Instead, I felt deeply involved. The story was the one I wanted to be a part of, the one I wanted to share, and every fiber of my being was dedicated to that.
Babygirl is in US cinemas on December 25 and UK cinemas on January 10.
