First trailer for Nick Frost’s horror-comedy with Heartstopper star
As a seasoned horror-comedy enthusiast who has navigated through countless eerie landscapes and quirky characters, I must say that the trailer for “Get Away” has piqued my interest! Having grown fond of Nick Frost’s peculiar charm since his days with Simon Pegg in “Shaun of the Dead,” it’s a delight to see him back in another genre-bending adventure.
The first trailer for the fresh horror-comedy titled “Get Away,” featuring Nick Frost alongside Sebastian Croft from “Heartstopper,” has been released.
The movie, initially titled “Svalta“, chronicles the journey of a family stranded on an isolated island following a murderer’s escape. Making their situation even more dire, the locals show no concern in assisting them, forcing the family to rely solely on their own resources for survival.
Featuring Aisling Bea and Maisie Ayres, the trailer kicks off showing a family setting out for their vacation. However, as events unfold, they come to understand that the island’s residents are not just unfriendly but downright hostile, much more so than initially perceived.
The movie penned by Frost and helmed by Steffen Haars just made its debut on the global stage at Fantastic Fest (on September 20th). Since then, a multitude of enthusiasts have flocked to social media platforms to voice their opinions about it.
One delighted spectator on Twitter remarked, “GET AWAY offers a delightful mix of horror and comedy. It’s clear Nick Frost is enjoying himself immensely. The movie also boasts an intriguing twist that I found particularly appealing. #FantasticFest
In essence, ‘Get Away’ resembles a comical take on ‘The Wicker Man’, turning quite gory in the latter part. Nick Frost continues to charm with his humor and eccentricity. The ending offers an intriguing twist that catches you off guard. #FantasticFest
A third viewer found “GET AWAY” to be an enjoyable watch! Nick Frost, who also wrote the script, takes on the lead role in this blend of tourist trap, horror-comedy that has elements reminiscent of films like “Midsommar” and “Sightseers”. It successfully captures the feel of ‘vacation invaders’ while holding some delightful, gory surprises for later. #FantasticFest
Another enthusiast likewise posted a favorable comment, stating: “VACATION IN SCANDINAVIA. A British clan travels to an eccentric Swedish island preparing for a pagan-inspired festival. Packed with clever wit and dark humor, it’s predictable yet doesn’t diminish the wild enjoyment it provides. #FantasticFest
Get Away is released in cinemas on December 6.
