First trailer for Netflix’s British sequel features Alison Hammond cameo
As a long-time fan of gritty, underdog stories that resonate with the common man, I’m absolutely thrilled about the upcoming release of “Bank of Dave 2: The Loan Ranger” on Netflix! The first movie was an inspiring tale that struck a chord with me, and it seems the sequel will continue that narrative in a powerful way.
The initial trailer for the follow-up to Netflix’s “Bank of Dave” is now out, showcasing a special appearance by popular television personality, Alison Hammond.
After the initial film’s triumph last year, based on the real events of Dave Fishwick and his Burnley-based community bank, a sequel has been officially announced.
Titled appropriately as “Bank of Dave 2: The Loan Ranger“, the upcoming installment features Rory Kinnear reprising his role as the main character, who this time confronts payday lenders.
Initially, we observe Fishwick post his achievement, with a segment showing him on the popular morning show “This Morning,” chatting with hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary. During this conversation, he shares a fresh idea or concern, aimed at the relevant companies.
“They’re making people’s lives a living hell, and I want to stop them,” he declares, as he crosses paths with American investigative reporter Jessica (played by This Is Us‘ Chrissy Metz).
Subsequently, we come across heart-wrenching accounts of individuals whose lives have taken a turn for the worse due to payday loan firms, all while Fishwick encounters difficulties as these same lenders attempt to bring an end to the Bank of Dave.
“I know times are hard, but together we might just be a force to be reckoned with,” he adds.
The summary for “Bank of Dave 2” goes like this: Dave enlists the help of Jessica, an American journalist specializing in investigation, and Oliver, a local advisor from the Citizens’ Advice Bureau, for his mission.
Joined forces, they set off on a path leading them towards the United States, with the ultimate goal of dismantling a ruthless group of corporations known for their exploitative business practices.
Joining Metz in this sequel, I’m thrilled to see Dan Fogler from “The Walking Dead,” Rob Delaney known for his role in “Deadpool,” Amit Shah who stole the show in “Mr Bates Vs The Post Office,” Pearce Quigley from “The Gentlemen,” and Leila Farzad, a familiar face from “Kaos.” Additionally, Def Leppard and Jo Hartley are reprising their roles from the initial movie. What a star-studded cast!
Bank of Dave 2: The Loan Ranger will be released on Netflix on January 10, 2025.
