First trailer for Line of Duty star Kelly Macdonald’s vampire movie
As a die-hard fan of both vampire tales and Kelly Macdonald’s stellar acting, I must say that the trailer for “The Radleys” has me absolutely thrilled! With its intriguing premise, top-notch cast, and the promise of a spine-tingling ride, this film is right up my alley.
A preview for the upcoming chilling vampire drama titled “The Radleys“, featuring actress Kelly Macdonald from “Line of Duty”, has been unveiled.
From the captivating narrative penned by Matt Haig, the movie revolves around myself and my spouse, harboring a mysterious truth from our offspring – we’re nocturnal beings with an affinity for blood, in other words, vampires!
On Tuesday, August 20, the world premiere of the movie is scheduled at the forthcoming Edinburgh International Film Festival.
One of the 18 debuts is set to take place at the revived festival, kicking off with the premiere of the fresh film “The Outrun” starring Saoirse Ronan and Paapa Essiedu.
The Radley family appears typical, but they hide a remarkable truth – they’re choosing not to be vampires. This is the essence of the movie’s plot summary.
“Being a teen is already tough enough, but lately, something strange has been happening within my family. It feels like some primal urge has taken over us, revealing a chilling secret that’s turned our peaceful suburban life upside down. Now, an unexpected relative is back, ready to shake things up even more.”
In the chilling preview, we find McDonald’s character, Helen, along with her husband, Peter played by Damian Lewis, attempting to maintain a semblance of normalcy in their ordinary routine.
In my gaming world, when I noticed my characters exhibiting strange, uncanny behaviors, I’d gather them around to break some surprising news – “Guys, it seems like there’s a hidden lore within us. We’re not just ordinary beings; we’re nocturnal, blood-drinking creatures of the night.”
“Rowan (Harry Baxendale) wonders if what I said is a metaphor,” to which Peter responds, “No, it’s just a straightforward fact about biology.”
As she gazes longingly at the red milkshake on the floor, Helen points out that it exposes one to particular desires or cravings.
While they struggle to resist their thirst for blood, Peter’s brother William, who is a practicing vampire, shows up to handle the aftermath of Clara’s (Bo Bragason) recent murder.
He confesses that drinking blood brings immense pleasure, but their lives soon take a turn for the worse as they find themselves with an insatiable craving for more blood.
Under the guidance of director Euros Lyn, this movie features actors such as Sophia Di Martino, Shaun Parkes, Jay Lycurgo, and Siân Phillips. The screenplay is based on the book by Haig, which was adapted for film by Jo Brand and Talitha Stevenson.
Filming for “The Radleys” commenced in June 2023, with news breaking that it will premiere on Sky Cinema in the UK and Ireland in 2024. However, a specific release date is yet to be announced.
Speaking of McDonald, it’s worth mentioning that he has also secured a part in the upcoming Netflix crime series, “Department Q”, sharing the screen with Matthew Goode from “Downton Abbey” and Chloe Pirrie, who was famed for her role in “The Queen’s Gambit”.
The Radleys receives its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on August 20.
