First trailer for Kit Connor and Joseph Quinn’s new movie

As a war veteran who lived through the Iraq War and saw the horrors of modern-day combat up close, I can hardly contain my excitement for “Warfare.” Having served as a military supervisor for Alex Garland on his latest film “Civil War,” Ray Mendoza is no stranger to bringing the raw realities of war to the silver screen.

A sneak peek of the initial trailer for the upcoming drama titled “Warfare,” featuring Kit Connor from “Heartstopper” and Joseph Quinn of “Stranger Things,” is now available to watch.

The movie, penned and helmed by Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland, delves into the narrative surrounding America’s 2006 invasion of Iraq. This gripping tale has been narrated by its veteran director, Ray Mendoza, based on his recollections.

In their next big project, you’ll see these two working together again. Notably, Mendoza played a significant role in overseeing the military aspects of Garland’s recently-released film, “Civil War,” from earlier this year.

Warfare will premiere in the US in 2025. A UK release date has yet to be announced.

The synopsis for the movie describes an immersive experience where viewers join a group of U.S. Navy SEALs in an Iraqi household, observing the progression of American troops across hostile territory as they are watched by insurgents.

Experience an authentic, firsthand account of contemporary warfare unlike any other – a narrative unfolding moment by moment, drawn from the recollections of those who were there.

The tense trailer sees a group of US soldiers scoping out two targets on a rooftop with a sniper rifle.

One soldier remarks, “It seems like others may be approaching our position,” while another shares, “I can tell there’s an increase in activity here as well. I can clearly make out what looks like weaponry now.

As the number of troops accumulates, a gunfight ensues between them and the terrorists, with bullets flying back and forth. Explosions follow rapidly, and eventually, Quinn’s character gets hit by a bullet.

A medical evacuation is then requested to help the “severely wounded” soldier, who starts to panic, asking: “Who’s severely wounded?”

On the ground, the situation is intensifying, as the soldiers are hurriedly devising a strategy to ensure they accomplish their task effectively.

In addition to Connor and Quinn, the cast of Warfare includes Will Poulter, Charles Melton, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Cosmo Jarvis, Finn Bennett, Taylor John Smith, and Noah Centineo.
