First trailer for Ke Huy Quan’s new action movie with Ariana DeBose
As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent navigating through action-packed virtual worlds, I can confidently say that the trailer for “Love Hurts” has me thoroughly intrigued! The cast, led by Ke Huy Quan and Ariana DeBose, looks promising, and the blend of action and drama is right up my alley.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m pumped about the fresh trailer for “Love Hurts,” the upcoming action flick featuring the talented Ke Huy Quan and Ariana DeBose – both Academy Award winners! Can’t wait to see this one unfold on the big screen!
In the forthcoming movie, Quan plays Marvin Gable, a real estate broker residing in Milwaukee whose routine existence is disrupted upon receiving an enigmatic scarlet letter from Rose (DeBose), an old accomplice he assisted in escaping his sinister brother’s malevolent schemes.
With that, Martin finds himself once again immersed in a treacherous landscape of relentless assassins, marked by deceit, betrayals, and seemingly ordinary homes transformed into perilous battlefields.
As I ponder over the official summary, it’s clear that my sibling, Knuckles (portrayed by Daniel Wu), a ruthless kingpin of crime, is relentlessly pursuing me. This chase forces me to grapple with the demons of my past and the secrets I’ve buried, hoping they’d stay hidden forever.
Additionally featured in this production are Marshawn Lynch, a former NFL player; Mustafa Shakir from the series “Ghosted”; Rhys Darby who played in “Next Goal Wins”; and lastly, Sean Astin known for his role in “Lord of the Rings”.
The trailer opens by giving a peek into Martin’s everyday life that appears ordinary, yet he asks: “Isn’t every day a chance to transform your life? Don’t you wonder if I became a successful realtor overnight?
Yet, Martin’s true identity as an ex-criminal is unmasked, compelling him to return to his dark past. His sinister brother orchestrates an assassination attempt on him, which forces this reversion.
“You want the old me?” he asks. “You got him!”
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Quan expressed that he was both thrilled and perplexed upon securing the role.
As I pondered, I found myself questioning, “Hold on, why am I being given this role? It doesn’t suit me at all.” In fact, I jokingly suggested, “You really ought to be reaching out to Jason Statham. This script is right up his alley!
However, following his discussions with the producers, Quan came to understand that the movie required a distinct type of action hero – one unlike the action stars from recent decades.
He isn’t shy about showing his vulnerability; he doesn’t appear tough unless the moment demands it. This offers a fresh perspective on the genre,” he commented.
Love Hurts arrives in cinemas on February 7, 2025.
