First trailer for Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton’s new movie
As a gamer with a keen eye for cinematic storytelling, I must admit that the trailer for Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore’s latest film, “The Room Next Door,” has piqued my interest significantly. The intrigue deepens as it is Pedro Almodóvar’s first English-language feature – I can only imagine the bold colors and enigmatic narrative he will weave with these two formidable actresses.
A preview for the upcoming movie featuring Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore is now available, as it is set to debut at the Venice Film Festival in a little over a month.
In the movie titled “The Room Next Door,” famed Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar makes a shift into directing in the English language for the first time, marking his debut in full-length films.
In the trailer for the film, the director’s distinctive use of vibrant colors, as seen in “Volver” and “The Skin I Live In,” is noticeable. However, apart from a solitary scream by Tilda Swinton’s character Martha, there’s no spoken dialogue in the preview.
The story centres on Ingrid (Moore) and Martha, who were close friends in their youth, when they worked together at the same magazine. They meet again years after losing touch, in strange circumstances.
The trailer shows various scenes, including Martha in a hospital bed with Ingrid by her side, a tension-filled car journey, and a ‘goodbye’ note.
When I’m back home with Ingrid after an eventful day, I let out a sudden yelp as I rummage through my bag, trying to locate that elusive item, Martha. That’s the moment you can hear it – my excited yet frantic search for something lost among the contents of my bag.
The film is an adaptation of the 2020 novel What Are You Going Through by Sigrid Nunez.
Previously this year, Moore featured in the period drama titled “Mary & George“, which centers around a woman leveraging her son’s charm to gain the king’s favor. In our evaluation, Digital Spy awarded it four stars.
In the future, we can expect Moore to star in the action thriller film “Control” alongside James McAvoy. On the other hand, Swinton has been chosen to act with Colin Farrell in the movie “The Ballad of a Small Player”, which is directed by Edward Berger, who won an Oscar for “All Quiet on the Western Front”.
The Room Next Door will premiere at Venice on September 2. In the UK it will be released in cinemas on October 25. In the USA, it will be released on December 20.
