First trailer for Jack Quaid’s new horror movie Companion
As a seasoned gamer and horror movie enthusiast with a penchant for twisted love stories, I can’t help but feel intrigued by the upcoming Jack Quaid-led film, Companion. Having survived countless sleepless nights thanks to my obsession with horror flicks, I’ve grown accustomed to the usual clichés – the creepy house, the mysterious figure lurking in the shadows, and the damsel in distress. However, this new teaser promises something fresh and potentially unsettling, as it invites us to experience a “new kind of love story.
The first trailer for Jack Quaid’s new horror movie Companion has been unveiled.
Although details about the movie’s storyline remain scarce, the latest trailer sheds light on certain aspects, hinting at a fresh take on a romantic tale as it invites viewers to “encounter an unusual love narrative,” coming from the studio renowned for producing films like “The Notebook.
In sync with the tune of “I Only Have Eyes for You” by The Flamingos, Quaid’s character indulges in a romantic evening with actress Sophie Thatcher from Yellowjackets.
Initially, it appears that Thatcher’s character is free, but a subsequent revelation unveils that she is in fact restrained to the table. Furthermore, the movie hails from the twisted minds behind “Barbarian” creators.
In the trailer, it appears that Quaid persistently follows and harasses Thatcher. At times, he’s seen aiming a gun at her with an unsettling grin on his face.
In another instance, I found myself gazing intently at Quaid, then placing my hand over a candle’s flickering light until my arm ignited.
In a more casual tone, she explains, “It might seem corny, but as soon as our gazes met, there was an undeniable connection – like a spark had ignited between us.
Among the other actors are Lukas Gage from The White Lotus, Megan Suri known for her role in Never Have I Ever, and Harvey Guillén, who is famous for his work in What We Do in the Shadows.
In the movie world, “Companion” is the first directing effort by Drew Hancock, who not only took on this role but also penned its script. On the other hand, the film “Barbarian” was written and directed by Zach Cregger, with production assistance from Zach, Raphael Margules, JD Lifshitz, and Roy Lee.
Quaid is perhaps best known for his role as Hughie Campbell in Prime Video’s hit series The Boys.
After airing its fourth season in June, it was officially announced that The Boys will return for a fifth and concluding season.
Companion is scheduled for release on January 8, 2025.
