First trailer for Elizabeth Olsen’s Netflix movie His Three Daughters
As a dedicated gamer and film enthusiast with a deep appreciation for character-driven dramas, I can’t help but feel excited about Elizabeth Olsen’s latest offering, “His Three Daughters.” Having grown up watching the Olsen twins in various films, it’s fascinating to see Elizabeth evolve into such complex and nuanced roles.
The first trailer for “His Three Daughters,” Elizabeth Olsen’s latest film, has been made available prior to its Netflix premiere.
In this film, the acting talents of Natasha Lyonne from “Russian Doll” and Carrie Coon from “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” are showcased. The story revolves around three sisters who have been estranged from each other. As their father nears the end of his life, they reunite, only to find that old grudges reemerge and complicate their already strained relationships.
In September 2023, the film had its first screening at the Toronto International Film Festival. It received glowing reviews from all 26 critics on Rotten Tomatoes, giving it a perfect score of 100%.

Directed and penned by Azazel Jacobs, this film unfolds over a few days in a single setting. The initial trailer introduces us to the building tension between sisters as they take turns caring for their ailing father at home.
Based on the given summary, the two sisters have distinct personalities. Katie (Coon), living in Brooklyn, grapples with her rebellious adolescent daughter, while Christina (Olsen) embodies a carefree and unique motherly role as she experiences being apart from her children for the first time.
As a gamer, I can tell you that my younger sister Rachel, or Lyonne as some call her, tends to spend most of her time in our old man’s pad, placing sports bets and chilling out with a joint. This lifestyle choice has led to quite a few heated debates among our family members.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Olsen talked about her similarities with her character.
She described herself as straight-forward and forceful at times, yet harbored a tender, caring side that surfaced in her role as a peacemaker.
The director Azazel Jacobs understands that side of me too. I discovered a sensitivity within myself which I believe I haven’t been able to convey through my films before. As I looked back at previous works for inspiration, I was reminded of Dianne Wiest’s performance in “Hannah and Her Sisters.” Although her character is different, the way she conveys softness in every role left a profound impact on me.
“I was making an effort to acknowledge the aspect of me that Aza perceives, but I haven’t shown it in my recordings yet.”
His Three Daughters will have a limited cinema release before landing on Netflix on September 20.
