First trailer for Doctor Who star’s new movie as it confirms UK release date

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of navigating through diverse digital landscapes and countless cinematic universes, I must say, the trailer for ‘And Mrs’ has certainly piqued my interest. Having witnessed the intricacies of time travel in ‘Doctor Who’, the supernatural horrors of ‘American Horror Story’, and the gritty political drama of ‘Succession’, I am eager to see these worlds collide in this unique comedy.

As a thrilled fan, I’m excited to share that the initial trailer for “And Mrs.” – a fresh, humorous production featuring Arthur Darvill from “Doctor Who,” Aisling Bea, and Billie Lourd known for her role in “American Horror Story” – has just dropped! Plus, we now have an official release date to look forward to.

The movie centers around a lady called Gemma (Bea), who discovers her fiancé Nathan (Colin Hanks) has tragically passed away just weeks before their wedding. Given Nathan’s strong desire to wed, and encouraged by his sister Audrey (Lourd), Gemma chooses to go ahead with the marriage despite the circumstances.

Initially, there’s disagreement within her family about her planning to marry a deceased person. This leads to resistance against the law, and ultimately transforms into a significant public controversy, with demonstrations occurring both in support of and against the wedding.

In the trailer, the movie appears to carry on the darkly humorous premise extensively, and you’ll notice several familiar faces too.

Among these talents, you’ll find Susan Wakoma from Enola Holmes, Harriet Walter of Succession, Omari Douglas from It’s a Sin, Paul Kaye known for Game of Thrones, Nish Kumar, Samuel Barnett famously from The History Boys, Paul Egan of After Life, Elizabeth McGovern of Downton Abbey, and Sinead Cusack who starred in MotherFatherSon.

The movie is set for a digital release on September 2nd. However, if you’re planning to attend the Edinburgh International Film Festival, you’ll have an early chance to watch it on Monday, August 19th.
