The Sailor Moon series has always been popular, with lots of toys and merchandise available. That trend continues today, and a new line of action figures is now scheduled to be released, though fans will have to wait a few months to get their hands on them.
The S.H. Figuarts Sailor Moon R – Crystal Star Compact Edition figure, which has been a long-awaited prototype, is finally getting a release date! This figure is part of a special anniversary celebration for the brand and features a completely redesigned sculpt. Although it won’t ship immediately, fans will be able to pre-order it next year.
Brand-New Sailor Moon Action Figure Finally Has a Release Date
The Sailor Moon R – Crystal Star Compact Edition figure was recently revealed and is the first completely new sculpt for the character in three years. She’s depicted wearing the Crystal Star Compact and holding the Cutie Moon Rod. The figure is highly poseable, allowing fans to recreate memorable scenes from the anime.
I’m absolutely thrilled with this figure! She’s about 5.5 inches tall and feels really solid thanks to the PVC and ABS plastic used to make her. The colors and details are spot on – it’s like she stepped right out of the original Sailor Moon R anime from the 90s! It even comes with a base to help with posing, which is awesome for recreating all her iconic battles. Plus, you get four different hands and three faceplates to change up her expressions. And the best part? Luna is included too! Having Sailor Moon’s trusty feline companion with her just makes the whole thing even more special.
The Sailor Moon R – Crystal Star Compact Edition figure will now be available in June 2026. It’s priced at 7,700 yen (about US$50) and pre-orders begin on January 8, 2026, through S.H. Figuarts. Although the release and pre-order dates are delayed, they coincide with the 30th anniversary of the Sailor Moon franchise, which started as a manga in 1991, followed by the popular anime adaptation a year later. 1991 also saw the release of a related work that later became considered a prequel to the Sailor Moon story.
