We’re getting a first glimpse of Brett Goldstein, known for his role in Ted Lasso, in his new comedy series, Escorted. The show, coming to Prime Video, also features Lesley Manville of The Crown and follows the life of Denny, a divorced father living in Manhattan.
The show centers around a man who unexpectedly starts working as a male escort. It explores themes of sex, hidden relationships, and the question of whether genuine connection is possible when money is involved.
New photos from the set show Goldstein’s character walking with a young girl who seems to be playing his daughter. The girl’s face is covered in blood.
The actor not only stars in Escorted, but also takes on multiple behind-the-scenes roles: co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer. He works alongside Brian Gallivan, a collaborator from Shrinking and Office Romance, to oversee the entire series.
I just heard that Manville is going to be playing Denny’s mom in this new thing! Apparently, her character, Terri, is a total star – like, a super charismatic cabaret singer who’s incredibly powerful and has an amazing voice. Sounds intense!

While it’s not likely to become a classic romantic comedy, or even be particularly memorable, this movie is a perfectly enjoyable and lighthearted way to pass the time, especially if you’re looking for something charming and British with a few laughs.
The actor will reprise his famous role as Roy Kent when Ted Lasso comes back for its fourth season next month. This time, the show’s main character faces a new and difficult task: coaching a women’s soccer team in a lower league.
