First look at Robert Pattinson and Zendaya’s new mystery rom-com

The first poster is out for The Drama, the new romantic comedy starring Robert Pattinson and Zendaya. The film, which boasts a fantastic cast and a captivating story, is one of the most eagerly awaited releases of 2026.

In the new film by Kristoffer Borgli, Robert Pattinson plays Charlie Thompson, an art museum director. His upcoming wedding to Emma Harwood (played by Zendaya, who works at a bookstore) is threatened when a secret from his past is revealed.

The new movie, coming to theaters on April 3, 2026, has been kept under wraps until now. But the studio A24 just shared the first official poster on their social media pages.

A post on X, simply reading “THE DRAMA. Formal invitation to follow,” hints at an upcoming film. The poster playfully ‘cordially invites’ viewers to tune in, and the image features characters played by Pattinson and Zendaya – Zendaya’s character is notably wearing an engagement ring.

Details about the movie’s story are still limited, but Pattinson recently shared a story about struggling with a particular scene during filming. He said he became very frustrated trying to figure it out and ended up calling a fellow actor for help.

I was really struggling with one particular scene,” Pattinson remembered. “I kept trying to figure out what it meant, and I ended up writing a lot of notes trying to analyze it. Eventually, I called Zendaya the night before we filmed it.

I told her what was bothering me, and after talking for two hours, she patiently explained that everything was straightforward – there was no hidden meaning. I had been worrying about it for three whole days!

Alongside Robert Pattinson and Zendaya, Alana Haim, Hailey Gates, and Mamoudou Athie will also star in The Drama. Ari Aster, the director of Hereditary and Eddington, is producing the film.

This won’t be the last time we see these two actors work together – they’re both confirmed for Dune: Part Three. Robert Pattinson is joining the cast and is expected to play the villain Scytale, and Zendaya will return as Chani.

The Drama will premiere in theaters on April 3, 2026, and Dune: Part Three is set to be released on December 18, 2026.
