A24 has shared the first images of Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer in their upcoming thriller, The Death of Robin Hood, and announced the release date for the first trailer. The film, directed by Michael Sarnoski, who calls it “powerful,” offers a new, darker take on the classic Robin Hood legend.
A24 released new images and announced on X that the trailer for the film will be revealed tomorrow, January 6th.
Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Ferguson are joined by a talented cast including Bill Skarsgård, known for his role in IT: Welcome to Derry, Noah Jupe from The Night Manager, and Murray Bartlett of The White Lotus.

We don’t have many details about the cast yet, but Hugh Jackman will play Robin Hood in the upcoming film.

The recently published photos reveal Hugh Jackman as his character, appearing worn and with long, grey hair and beard. One photo also features Jackman alongside Alexander Skarsgård, sitting by a campfire in a wild setting.
The third picture features Comer wearing a long blue cape and a matching bonnet, standing on a cliffside with a view of the bay.
The film’s director, Sarnoski, recently shared that it’s been a fantastic experience reimagining the classic story of Robin Hood. A UK release date hasn’t been announced yet.

Finding the right actors was key to making this story come alive on screen. I’m incredibly excited and confident that Hugh and Jodie will deliver a truly impactful and moving performance.
This isn’t the typical Robin Hood tale you might expect,” explained producers Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett. “Instead, director Michael has created a much more realistic and intense story.

The Death of Robin Hood has yet to receive a UK release date.
