First look at Heartstopper star’s new horror-comedy
As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for horror-comedies and a soft spot for British talent, the upcoming release of “Get Away” has me more than just a little excited! With Sebastian Croft from “Heartstopper,” Aisling Bea, Nick Frost, and newcomer Maisie Ayres on board, I can’t help but feel that this film is shaping up to be a bloody good time.
The initial image for the upcoming comedy-horror film starring Sebastian Croft, who was previously seen in “Heartstopper,” has been revealed!
In its revised form, the movie was originally named “Svalta“. However, it tells the story of a family venturing onto a secluded island. Yet, they find themselves in quite a predicament as an unidentified murderer lurks around and the locals appear indifferent to their plight for assistance.
As a gamer, I’m super hyped about the latest flick that features Aisling Bea and Nick Frost (who also wrote it!), and we just got our first peek at the movie! In the image, us three main characters along with newcomer Maisie Ayres are posed by the coast, looking deep in thought. Can’t wait to see what this adventure has in store for us!
Apart from unveiling its initial visual, the movie titled “Get Away” has set both its worldwide debut and release date. The film is scheduled to be previewed during Fantastic Fest later this month before hitting US theaters on December 6th. Following its theater run, the film will become available for streaming on Shudder starting from 2025.
I’m overjoyed! My film, ‘Get Away,’ has found its perfect home with IFC Films and Shudder. The ongoing partnership with Wayward Entertainment and the team at XYZ is simply fantastic. It feels so right and gives me great comfort knowing that ‘Get Away’ is in such capable hands. I can hardly wait for you all to witness it on the big screen!
Director Steffen Haars expressed his excitement, stating, “I’m absolutely thrilled that Get Away has found a fantastic collaborator in IFC Films and Shudder. We can hardly wait to welcome everyone on this exhilarating journey with the Smith family to the unwelcoming island of Svälta in North America.
Emily Gotto, Shudder’s Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Production, also commented on the news, stating: “Get Away” is a hilarious comedy that drenches a Swedish family’s peaceful holiday with plenty of blood.
Experience a rollercoaster of laughter and fear, as this side-splitting adventure delivers both in perfect balance! Nick Frost showcases his knack for horror-comedy, backed by an impressive group of actors, while Steffen Haars adds a fun, creative flair to the directing.
The movie “Get Away” will premiere in U.S. theaters on December 6, and it will later become available on Shudder in 2025. As of now, a release date for the UK has not been announced.
