First look at Gilmore Girls’s Lauren Graham’s new comedy with first trailer
A first trailer for Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham’s new comedy series has dropped.
The focus of the Z-Suite revolves around the generation gap within a marketing firm, as a senior executive named Graham is being replaced by fresh, young Gen Z staff members.
Initially, we encounter Monica Marks, played by Nico Santos from ‘Superstore’, along with executive Doug Garcia. A sense of tension arises as Monica appears overshadowed during a meeting by her younger coworker Kriska Thompson (Madison Shamoun, known for ‘The Lake’).
After being let go to facilitate a leadership transition, Monica, along with Doug, chose to establish their own agency following Kriska’s appointment as the new CEO, during a tumultuous period.
As a die-hard follower, I can’t help but feel a chill down my spine when the trailer hints at tumultuous times for the fresh Gen Z leaders, as tension simmers between them and Monica. The climax sees Monica crashing a bat mitzvah, casting a shadow over the event in full view of everyone present.
The series known as “The Z-Suite” is scheduled to make its debut on Tubi on February 6, starting with two initial episodes. In all, the series will feature a total of eight episodes.
In this scenario, Katie O’Brien serves as the head of The Santa Clauses’ comedy production, while Graham takes up the role of an executive producer.
The actor is most famously recognized for portraying Lorelai Gilmore in the TV show “Gilmore Girls” from 2000 to 2007, then reprising the role in the miniseries “A Year in the Life” in 2016.
Last month, Graham proposed a possible prequel focusing on Lorelai’s past to E! News, stating: “One idea could be high school Lorelai. We’re discussing it as if it were like The Hobbit, although I’m not certain it is. However, I believe that in similar universes, they address such questions by going back or forward.
The Z-Suite will premiere on Tubi in the US on February 6.
