Fans can now get a first look at Ralf Little, known for his role in Death in Paradise, as he stars in a new stage adaptation of John le Carré’s The Spy Who Came In from the Cold. The production began its tour on March 12th at Curve Leicester and will be performed at twenty-one locations throughout the UK.
In the film, Michael Caine stars as Alec Leamas, a British spy who is tired, cynical, and wants to leave the dangerous world of espionage.
The play’s summary continues, explaining that when Control, the head of the Circus, asks Leamas to undertake one last, highly risky and emotionally charged assignment, Leamas decides to continue working as a spy.

Sent behind enemy lines, he struggles with his beliefs when he meets Liz Gold, a calm but strong-willed librarian whose kindness begins to soften him. Meanwhile, experienced spy George Smiley is involved – but what exactly is his part in this mission?
Gráinne Dromgoole plays librarian Liz Gold, with Tony Turner as George Smiley. Nicholas Murchie and Peter Losasso also star in the production.

After it was announced he’d been cast in January, Little shared a statement expressing his excitement about playing Alec Leamas, a memorable character from John le Carré’s classic Cold War story. He said it’s an honor to bring the complex and shadowy world of the novel to the stage.
“I first read The Spy Who Came In from the Cold when I was 16 and it has stayed with me ever since.
Honestly, even though this story was originally written way back in the 60s, it feels incredibly current – like it was written about today! I’m so excited to finally be able to share it with everyone, both longtime fans and new audiences, as we bring it to cities all over the UK.
