First look at Benedict Cumberbatch’s new movie

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent navigating the labyrinthine world of narrative-driven video games, I eagerly await the cinematic adaptation of “The Thing with Feathers”. Having traversed the emotional landscapes of games like “Life is Strange” and “Heavy Rain”, I’ve developed a keen sense for gripping narratives that delve into the human psyche. The premise of this film, with its exploration of grief and loss, immediately piqued my interest.

The Sundance Film Festival recently unveiled an initial snapshot featuring Benedict Cumberbatch in the upcoming movie titled “The Thing with Feathers“.

Actor Benedict Cumberbatch, known for playing Doctor Strange, will star in Dylan Southern’s film adaptation of Max Porter’s novella “Grief Is the Thing with Feathers.” In this role, Cumberbatch portrays a grieving father of two who is grappling with the sudden loss of his wife and trying to navigate parenting responsibilities.

As the protagonist struggles with his grasp on sanity, his deep sorrow manifests into tangible shapes, and an ominous force seems to be encroaching upon him within his own family’s home.

In simpler terms, “The Thing with Feathers” brings together Benedict Cumberbatch once more, as Vinette Robinson, who was Sally Donovan on “Sherlock”, is also part of the cast.

In the game I’m immersed in, I’ve got my digital family complete with Richard and Henry Boxall playing my virtual offspring, not to mention Eric Lampert and Sam Spruell joining the crew too.

On the Sundance site, they’ve unveiled an initial image where Benedict Cumberbatch is depicted, playing a troubled character, who seems engrossed in sketching on a board. Notably, he’s wearing his wedding ring.

The Thing with Feathers” is set to debut globally at Sundance from January 23rd through February 2nd next year. At present, no information has been shared regarding its release in the UK, but stay tuned for updates about its broader availability.

I’m absolutely thrilled to share that I’ll soon be sharing the screen with the brilliant Olivia Colman in the modern take on the bittersweet divorce comedy from 1989, “The War of the Roses.” Can’t wait to bring this classic story to life!

According to Warren Adler’s 1981 book, the movie primarily revolves around a bitter and relentless custody dispute, where both parties are ready to go to any lengths to achieve their desired outcome.

The upcoming “War of the Roses” film, previously brought to life with Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas in lead roles, is helmed by director Jay Roach, best known for his work on “Austin Powers.” The script is penned by Tony McNamara, who was nominated for an Oscar for his work on the screenplay “Poor Things.

The film titled “The Thing with Feathers” is set to debut at the Sundance Film Festival in early 2025. Further details regarding its release in other parts of the world will be revealed later on.
