As a huge film buff, I’m really excited about Michael Sarnoski’s take on the Robin Hood legend – it looks seriously different! He’s the guy behind “Pig” and “A Quiet Place: Day One”, so I trust his vision. This isn’t the swashbuckling adventure you might expect; it’s a dark, gritty period thriller with Hugh Jackman as an older, weathered Robin Hood. And the cast? Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe – incredible! The trailer shows a really moody and violent story, and honestly, it looks fantastic. I’m definitely adding this one to my must-see list.
Following a devastating injury in battle, Robin Hood (Jackman) is cared for by an enigmatic woman (Comer). While recovering, he’s forced to confront the violence of his past and finds a surprising opportunity to make amends. The film appears visually stunning and promises a fresh take on the legend, with Jackman delivering a compelling performance, Skarsgård portraying a unique Little John, and Comer adding an air of mystery. Combined with beautiful cinematography, detailed historical settings, and intense action, this could be another standout film from A24.
The movie “The Death of Robin Hood” is scheduled to come out sometime in 2026. Watch the trailer and tell me if you plan to see it!
