The Star Wars franchise is unique in how deeply it’s built a connected universe. It began with the original movies and has expanded into a vast collection of novels, comics, games, and both animated and live-action TV shows, all fitting into one large, ongoing story. While Star Wars has faced some challenges lately, fans still love the world, and the animated series continue to be a strong part of what makes it special.
The animated series “The Clone Wars,” “Rebels,” and “The Bad Batch” have all added exciting new layers to the Star Wars universe, and the upcoming series “Maul – Shadow Lord” looks to continue that tradition. Set after the Clone Wars, the show focuses on the fascinating character of Maul as he establishes a criminal organization, takes on a new student, and keeps a watchful, vengeful eye on the growing Empire. The first trailer suggests this might be the most intense animated Star Wars series yet. Plus, the show will feature Sam Witwer, who previously voiced the character, and Wagner Moura, a recent Academy Award nominee.
The new Star Wars series, “Maul – Shadow Lord,” will start streaming on Disney+ on April 6th. Watch the trailer and tell me if you plan to watch it!
