Jasen Kaplan, known for appearing on Finding Prince Charming, has died at 46, just weeks after his former co-star, Chad Spodick, unexpectedly passed away.
Kaplan passed away at a hospital in New York City on December 31, Page Six reported on Thursday.
Police are investigating the death of a 46-year-old man found at the apartment building where the late star lived. The medical examiner will determine how he died, and also determine the cause of Kaplan’s death.
The TV star was a contestant on the first season of the dating show when it premiered in 2016, but they were eliminated after just one week.
He was a well-known makeup artist who worked with many celebrities, including Eva Longoria, Lynda Carter, Kelly Osbourne, Bethenny Frankel, Sonja Morgan, and Cyndi Lauper.
Kaplan loved his dog, Coco, and sometimes shared photos of her on Instagram.

The social media star, with almost 100,000 Instagram followers, became friends with several famous celebrities, like Bethenny Frankel and Sharon Osbourne, who both shared heartfelt messages after his passing.
A former cast member of The Real Housewives of New York recently shared a collection of photos and videos of the late star, looking back on memories from over the years.
She shared a heartfelt message, describing Jasen Kaplan as someone with incredibly positive and uplifting energy. He was lively, enthusiastic, and consistently gave his best effort.
She described his passing on New Year’s Eve as deeply unreal, remembering him as a remarkably kind person who truly cared about everyone he met.
Frankel shared that Kaplan ‘made people feel seen, celebrated, and better about themselves.’
They stayed in touch regularly, and the star mentioned he’d send her updates on things he found each week. His latest discovery was a cute Hello Kitty cookie jar that made him think of her.
Kaplan wasn’t just my makeup artist; he was a true friend and felt like a core member of my team. He also had a wonderful connection with my daughter, Bryn, who’s fifteen, and they were really close. It’s like losing family, honestly.
He was a constant source of support and encouragement, both in person and online. He’d seen me through everything, from everyday struggles to my best moments, and always made me feel good about myself. Being around him just brightened your day – he always had a story to tell.

Frankel shared some thoughts on her skills as a makeup artist, and then reminded her followers to let their loved ones know how they feel today.
I’m holding my daughter extra tight, remembering how much Jasen loved her. She’ll always be a cherished part of our family, now and forever. And I’m sure she’ll be the most glamorous person in heaven! Rest peacefully, and enjoy all your favorite treats.
Osbourne also posted photos and videos on her Instagram Stories honoring Kaplan, offering a glimpse into their close friendship.
She posted older photos and a heartfelt message, saying she was heartbroken and deeply loved Jasen Kaplan, thanking him for all the happiness he brought to her life.
‘I hope you are at peace now. Life will never be the same without you! RIP my dear friend!’
She made sure Coco, his dog, would always have care, and shared that she’ll miss their late-night video calls.
Osbourne – who lost her father Ozzy in July 2025 – then shared a selfie she had taken with Kaplan.
You were the absolute best friend a girl could have! Twenty-five years of friendship, and I cherish every moment. Thanks, Jasen! (@jasenkaplan)

Osbourne also reminisced about fun times they’d had together, like the occasion when Kaplan playfully dressed up as her.
Before he passed away, the celebrity frequently used social media to showcase his makeup work on various famous clients.
Last month in December, fellow Finding Prince Charming star Chad Spodick died of suicide at age 42.
According to People magazine, the Boca Raton Police Department has confirmed the death was a suicide.
He was also a contestant on the first season of the reality dating show in 2016, which was hosted by Lance Bass from the band NSYNC.
He left the show after six weeks, but later returned for a special reunion episode with the other contestants.
News of his death, which has been described as devastating, was confirmed on a GoFundMe page created on December 4th. A friend started the page to collect $20,000 to cover funeral expenses, with his mother, Felice Harwood, designated as the recipient of the funds.

It is with broken hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved son, brother, and friend, Chad. He was a kind and generous person, and we will miss him dearly.
His death was unexpected and deeply saddened us. We’re still trying to come to terms with losing him.
He was described as someone ‘who poured himself into others’ and also ‘lifted up his friends.’
Chad loved animals and felt a strong connection to all creatures, particularly his four dogs and his bird, Cosmo.
The heartfelt message ended with his friend sharing how difficult it was to cope with the loss.
Thank you for helping us remember Chad and support the causes and creatures he cared about deeply.

I noticed our friend Spodick was last seen on social media on November 21st – he shared a sunny selfie, which was lovely! It’s always nice to see someone enjoying a bit of sunshine, and that was his last post as far as we know.
His niece shared a heartfelt message, saying, ‘I love you forever, Uncle Chad. Please consider donating to help our family during this difficult time; any support would be greatly appreciated.’
Spodick loved flying and was an experienced pilot. In 2020, he also co-founded Goldsuite Jets, a company offering high-end private jet charters.
Before his death, Chad had celebrated his 42nd birthday on November 26, 2025.
