
Starting in 2015 with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Lucasfilm and Disney consistently released Star Wars movies in theaters each year. The longest wait between films was 18 months, between Solo: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Since the conclusion of the sequel trilogy, Lucasfilm has shifted its focus to television, creating shows centered around popular characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, and Boba Fett.
Pedro Pascal’s character, the bounty hunter Din Djarin, and Grogu (known as “Baby Yoda”) became instant stars when they first appeared in Disney+’s The Mandalorian in 2019. Now, after years of success on the streaming service, they’re heading to the big screen in their own movie, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. The final trailer for the film has just been released and you can watch it below.
The trailer, and previous glimpses of the movie, show that a big part of the excitement comes from the story taking place between the original and sequel trilogies. This time period allows the film to combine familiar elements from the past with completely new ideas and visuals, creating a unique experience for fans.
