Independent game studio, Exabyte Games, has shared that their strategic base-building survival game, titled Final Outpost: Definitive Edition, is set to debut on Android, iOS, and PC platforms on May 22, 2025. This release builds upon the traditional Final Outpost experience, which underwent a significant enhancement with the version 1.5 Defense Update.

Expand, evolve, and endure in a world teeming with Zombies

Final Outpost: Definitive Edition represents an upgraded version of a survival strategy building game, where you assume command over the remaining survivors after an apocalypse. Your tasks include delegating jobs to the survivors, creating tools, managing resources, and fortifying your settlement against hordes of zombie attacks.

Based on the original version, this update provides an opportunity for you to distribute more than 10 distinct occupations among your townsfolk. You can also enhance their abilities in areas such as defense, collection, and repair. As the deer herd dwindles outside the walls, farming becomes a viable option to ensure that your residents are well-nourished.

This upgraded version appears intriguing, featuring a trading system, varying difficulty levels, a novel structure, a map, and a motorhome – all part of over 12 distinct building designs. It also offers simulated weather patterns, seasons, and additional features. I’m particularly excited to encounter and combat over 5 unique types of zombies using machine guns, as well as explore the game’s original soundtrack.
