As a longtime fan who has journeyed through the mystical realms of Final Fantasy since its humble beginnings, I can’t help but feel a surge of anticipation upon hearing the latest news about FF16 potentially gracing the Xbox Series X|S. With Square Enix’s recent successful forays into the Xbox universe with games like the Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster, Legend of Mana, and Trials of Mana, it’s only a matter of time before our favorite Valorian knight takes his rightful place amongst our next-gen consoles.
As a devoted fan, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the day when Final Fantasy XVI graces not just PCs but also Xbox consoles. Given Square Enix’s assertive approach to platform expansion, it seems only natural that this epic game will soon be available on our beloved Xbox systems too!
It seems that Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster, Legend of Mana, and Trials of Mana have now arrived on Xbox, marking a great beginning. With Producer Naoki Yoshida hinting at unfulfilled expectations, it appears that Final Fantasy XVI might be in the pipeline next!
Indeed, we did make an announcement about the PC version of the game. Regarding the Xbox version, Yoshida stated in an interview with Video Games on SI that we’re eager to release it on Xbox. However, when it comes to details like when the game will be released, we currently don’t have anything to disclose at this time.
He added that “ it’s not as if there’s zero hope,” adding that an Xbox version of Final Fantasy XVI is something that Square Enix “very much” wants to achieve. “So players should not give up in terms of their hopes”, he added.
For Final Fantasy XVI on Xbox Series X|S, it certainly seems promising, yet the release date remains a mystery.
