Final Destination Bloodlines Sparks Survival Crisis for the Franchise’s Future

Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Final Destination Bloodlines!

The “Final Destination” series has sparked numerous intriguing theories among fans, and if one widely-held assumption is correct, then the release of “Final Destination Bloodlines” poses a significant challenge for the franchise’s continuity. “Final Destination Bloodlines,” one of the most successful movies in the series, enjoyed box office success and garnered unexpected critical acclaim. However, the 2025 film introduces an element that could potentially disrupt the franchise’s narrative flow, necessitating a resolution before “Final Destination 7” to ensure consistency with this popular fan theory.

As a movie enthusiast, I found myself drawn into the intricate web spun by “Final Destination 5: Bloodlines.” Unlike typical sequels, this film doesn’t just pick up where the last left off; instead, it delves deep into the past, revealing that the tragic event in 1968 wasn’t just an isolated incident. It seems that Death has been meticulously tying up loose ends from the Sky View disaster for nearly half a century. This revelation suggests that every character we’ve encountered in the previous “Final Destination” films might be connected to this fateful event in some way. The seemingly unrelated deaths and premonitions could all be part of Death’s grand design, as it seeks to erase the legacy of Iris Campbell.

Final Destination Bloodlines Is The Conclusion Of Death’s Plan

With The Deaths Of The Campbell Line

In my opinion, as a film critic, Death’s relentless pursuit in “Final Destination: Bloodlines” followed a chilling pattern. As Iris elucidated, Death was obliged to claim the lives of the Sky View survivors in the sequence they would have naturally perished. Given the multitude of survivors, this grim process took an excruciatingly prolonged period. However, by the time Death reached me, I had gleaned enough insight about Death to secure refuge in a house that seemed impervious to its grasp. There, I endured for several additional decades, witnessing my family expand along the way. Regrettably, even my death-proof dwelling couldn’t shield me forever, and eventually, Death claimed my life. Once I was gone, Death persisted in wiping out the entire Campbell lineage, ultimately accomplishing its task by the conclusion of “Final Destination: Bloodlines.

After the Campbells were slain, only one individual from the Sky View incident remained alive: William Bludworth. Although Bludworth’s demise isn’t shown on screen, Tony Todd’s character appears to accept his inevitable end, implying that it occurred not long after the movie concluded. Sadly, Tony Todd has since passed away during the production of Final Destination Bloodlines, which means the Bludworth line may no longer continue in Final Destination 7. If the suggested fan theory holds true, Death’s scheme might finally reach its end.

If Death’s Plan Is Done, How Does Final Destination 7 Happen?

If The Fan Theory Remains True

Despite the fact that the theory connecting every victim in the “Final Destination” series to Sky View has not been verified, “Final Destination Bloodlines” suggests this link strongly. This means, if Death is wrapping up the survivors of Sky View, it brings about the question of how “Final Destination 7” unfolds. For the theory to remain feasible, “Final Destination 7” would need to expose that there was another survivor from Sky View whom Iris failed to identify. This unrecognized survivor could have been hidden within the building or perhaps someone who perished on the ground due to falling debris.

An easier way to put that could be: While linking every Final Destination character to a single event in 1968 is intriguing, it might limit rather than enhance the franchise. A simpler approach may be to let Death’s scheme proceed as usual, without tying all characters to one incident.

Final Destination 7 Can Be A Fresh Start For The Franchise Now

Introducing Another Major Disaster & Premonition

If the Sky View hypothesis is valid, it suggests that the Sky View event was an unintentional error by Death instead of a premeditated part of its grand scheme. Consequently, in the hypothetical scenario where this is true, Final Destination 7 could revisit another significant incident similar to Sky View to maintain consistency with the theory. Essentially, as one calamity ends, another begins, keeping the series alive and well. However, it appears that the Bloodlines theory might be disregarded in favor of Final Destination 7 following a typical plotline, much like other installments in the franchise.
