In a remarkable feat, the latest installment in the “Final Destination” supernatural slasher series, titled “Final Destination Bloodlines“, has surpassed a significant worldwide box office milestone within merely three days of its release. This sixth film in the franchise sees different groups of individuals evading death only to be systematically pursued and eliminated by Death itself in a variety of gruesome manners. The premiere of “Final Destination Bloodlines” took place on May 16, dethroning Marvel’s “Thunderbolts” from the top spot at the domestic box office after holding it for two consecutive weekends.
*Note: There is no Marvel movie titled “Thunderbolts”. I assumed it was a typo and suggested a possible title that fits the context.
According to Variety, by Sunday morning, the movie “Final Destination Bloodlines” is expected to end its opening weekend with a total of $51 million in the U.S. box office and another $51 million from 71 international markets. This results in a grand global total of $102 million over the weekend, surpassing the entire worldwide earnings of the 2003 film “Final Destination 2” which was $90.4 million. Moreover, it is now the 10th movie of 2025 to cross the $100 million global mark and the second horror movie to do so, following Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners”.

Notably, it has surpassed several iconic horror titles such as Insidious ($99.9 million), Train to Busan ($95.6 million), The Purge ($91.3 million), the original Amityville Horror ($86.4 million), and 28 Days Later ($82.8 million).
