Fightland Beginners Guide and Tips

Fightland is a large-scale team battle game created by Ninja Kiwi, the team behind Bloons TD 6 and Bloons Card Storm. It combines elements of MOBAs, battle arenas, and team-based combat. This beginner’s guide will offer helpful tips and tricks to get you started and enhance your gameplay.

Fightland Overview

Let’s begin with an overview of how the game works. The story introduces three powerful characters, each the best in their own world, who have been brought together in Fightland by a character called the Receptionist. You’ll then go through a quick tutorial covering the basics, including the three character classes, outfits, and other important features.

You can start with any of the three available characters and customize them to create unique fighters. You get three character slots for free. During customization, you can choose their weapon, how they look, their outfits, and other details, before taking them into battle. As you fight, you can also improve your chosen weapon and unlock more powerful attacks.

The gameplay isn’t quite as polished as Brawl Stars, and it lacks features like a hit marker or aiming, so it’s good to be aware of that. Each match, you’ll play one of three modes: Last Base Standing, Crystal Carry, or Fightzone, and each one has its own way to win.

Introducing the Basics of Fightland

Classes

The game offers three classes:

  • Brute: Brutes are big, and with them, you can use powerful crowd-clearing weapons to wreck enemies on the battlefield.
  • Rogue: They’re fast and sneaky, and although small, you get access to ranged and melee weapons that can attack fast and hurt enemies even faster.
  • Mage: Here, Mages float above the ground, and you’ll get to wield magical weapons that can cause great damage from a distance or support your allies.

Weapons and Secondary Weapons

Each character class offers a range of weapons to suit how you like to play. For example, if you choose the Brute class, you can equip weapons like Soul Hunger, Demonhaunt, Meteorite Cannon, or Anvil Storm, all of which have unique attacks.

You can bring a Secondary Weapon into battles, and there are many different ones to unlock. For example, when playing as Brute, you can choose the Battering Ram, which allows you to charge forward, knocking enemies back and dealing damage. You can also find Battle Assets, such as Spacemaker or Instigate, during each match, similar to how custom loadouts work in CODM.

Outfits

In this game, outfits do more than just look good – they also give you special abilities. As you play, you’ll unlock even more powerful outfits. For example, the Guardian Plate armor boosts the defense of your allies by 15%.

Challenges

Check out the Challenges section for both Daily and Weekly challenges! Completing these challenges earns you rewards like Weapon XP, Brute Currency, Rogue Currency, and Mage Currency. Weekly challenges offer bigger rewards and also include chests.

The challenges aren’t very difficult, so you should be able to complete them easily. For example, Daily tasks might ask you to apply Slow effects 75 times or deal 500 damage with critical hits. Weekly tasks could involve dealing 3,000 damage to opponent bases using Demonhaunt or its associated Masteries.

Store

The game’s Store is divided into sections like Weapons, Sidearms, Outfits, Appearance items, Battle Assets, and more. To be honest, things can get expensive, with Battle Assets being the most affordable option. You’ll also need to purchase extra fighting slots directly from the Store.

Fightland Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks

1. Customize your Fightlings strategically

Don’t just choose a class at random. Carefully customize everything – from your weapons and clothing to your sidearms and in-battle items. These choices aren’t just about how you look; they directly impact your performance in the game.

2. Master all three win Conditions

In this game, each match places you in one of three different modes. Because each mode has unique goals, you’ll need to understand them and figure out the best strategies to win against other players.

3. Make sure to clear Daily and Weekly Challenges

In Fightland, Daily and Weekly Challenges are a quick and simple way to earn valuable rewards, such as Weapon XP and class currencies. Make sure to complete these challenges when they become available, as they’re generally not very difficult.

4. Keep experimenting and master your Weapons

As you play, you’ll gain access to stronger weapons and equipment. Experiment with creating different characters—you have three slots available—and become skilled with various weapons. Don’t hesitate to change your character’s class if you feel it’s time for a new approach.

5. Stay away from the Store

I wouldn’t recommend buying this right now. Upgrading your weapons or outfits won’t improve the game, so you’re better off enjoying the free version for now. Ultimately, the choice is yours, but you can have fun without spending any money.

Final Thoughts

Fightland aimed to create a wild and energetic experience with its large-scale team battles, blending elements of MOBAs and traditional battle arenas. However, the game didn’t quite live up to its potential. While it sounded fun on paper, the gameplay itself wasn’t as polished or enjoyable.

The game is currently experiencing some problems, but the developers say they’re releasing an update soon to address many of them. In the meantime, you can find a helpful guide here if you’d like to improve your experience. Enjoy playing!
