Fifi Box’s Shocking Rescue of Drowning Baby in Maldives Leaves Her Traumatized
As a lifestyle enthusiast reflecting on personal experiences, I can share that an unexpected and harrowing event, where I found myself taking swift action to rescue a precious newborn, has left an indelible mark on me – a deep scar of trauma that lingers.
On my radio show with Fifi, Fev, and Nick on Fox FM, I shared a heart-wrenching story from our recent family vacation in the Maldives, my friends.
Talking about a terrible experience during our family getaway to the Maldives, I opened up on Tuesday’s show with Fifi, Fev, and Nick on Fox FM, dear listeners.
To make certain her colleagues would find her account credible, Fifi, aged 48, sought individuals to vouch for her narrative.
Fifi said, ‘We spent all our time in the pool without a break. However, there was an unusual incident in the pool one day, and I’m not sure if I should tell you guys about it, because I’m afraid you won’t believe me.’
‘So, I found myself a witness, a lovely Australian couple, Emma and Pete from Brisbane.’
Next, Fifi asked Emma to share her account of the tense occurrence that she described as both alarming and terrifying.
Emma described the scene as us sipping on Pina Coladas near the swimming pool while you played with our youngest daughter Daisy in the water. Meanwhile, another little girl seemed to enjoy some independent time by floating around on her own.
A bystander shouted, “Goodness gracious, she appears to have submerged!”. Upon hearing this, you swiftly reacted, scooping her up and removing her from the water. The sight was undeniably startling and frightening.
In a more concise version:
A person exclaimed, “She’s drowned!”, so you jumped into action, pulling her out of the water. It was a distressing moment to witness.
When Brendan Fevola wondered if their co-host had rescued the fortunate kid, Emma replied that without Fifi present, the circumstances might have become more grim or ominous.
Emma mentioned that the baby’s life was saved since neither of its parents were in the pool at the time, instead they were relaxing on their lounger by the sun.
She appeared to be around three years old, not wearing water wings, only a buoyant ring, and it seems she managed to get free from it.
Fifi mentioned that the event left such a deep impact on her and her daughter Daisy, they were compelled to vacate the swimming pool area.
For several moments after the incident near the pool, an eerie quiet hung in the air. She began to cry and felt compelled to depart – Daisy and I chose to exit because the situation became overwhelmingly intense, as she later explained.
In the pool, I stood alone as an adult, turning my back. If not for being submerged beneath the surface, she would have been just ten meters away from where I stood.

We weren’t sure for how long she had been submerged. When I retrieved her, she was expelling water everywhere, which was absolutely dreadful.
Pete, another witness, noted that it was quite lucky that Fifi was the one who was asked to take action at that moment.
‘I was probably three pina coladas in so it was lucky it was you in the water,’ Pete said to Fifi.
In her chat with her fellow actors, Fifi expressed her astonishment at the nonchalant attitude of the child’s guardians.
Or
Fifi continued talking with her co-stars and stated that she found it surprising when the child’s parents showed little concern.
‘The mum didn’t even get off the sun lounge,’ she said.
I’m surprisingly intrigued since I’ve been put to the test. Normally, when things go awry, I tend to become paralyzed with fear and find it hard to act.
‘When I saw that baby go under, I just raced to her. I was really traumatised.’
Fifi remarked, “When she collapsed from vomiting and seemed lifeless, then began to breathe again and expel the water… yet her mother remained motionless. Everyone around just froze in place. I was clearly distressed.

Another call came in from Liz, who supported Fifi’s account, stating that she and her daughter had personally observed the event happen.
Fifi has two children – Trixie, 11 and Daisy, five.
Trixie is co-owned by ex-Ironman and Olympian Grant Kenny, whereas Fifi gave birth to Daisy in 2019 through IVF and a sperm donor who remains anonymous. (This version aims to be more conversational while maintaining the original meaning.)
In November, the radio host shared with Stellar magazine that she takes pride in using her media outlet to display a variety of family types to ordinary Australians.
She emphasized that it’s crucial to recognize and inform that families can vary greatly, encompassing a multitude of forms.
She mentioned that since I work in media and have an established reputation, I can influence and adapt it. However, it can be quite annoying.
