Fern Britton’s Amazing Transformation!
In the spirit of keeping up with my fitness journey, I proudly shared my remarkable body transformation in a mirror selfie on Instagram this past Wednesday, right after my workout session at home gym. (Fern Britton’s original post was about her transformation)
In a vibrant pink long-sleeved shirt and snug black cycling shorts, the presenter, aged 67, was an impressive sight while displaying her successful weight loss journey.
I beamed with joy as I captured that selfie following my workout session, where I lifted an assortment of weights ranging from dumbbells to a barbell loaded at both ends.
Instead of starting a new “fitness regime,” Fern appears to have transformed one of her rooms into a personal workout space, with various weights scattered on the floor in front of her.
As she launches her latest publication, here’s what she wrote: “Rebooting after a hibernation-like winter… #TheOlderIGet now available in bookstores”.
Back in January, Fern unveiled that she had initiated a fresh fitness routine encompassing jogging, biking, strolling, and weightlifting.

She said: ‘I’ve started running again and gone back to couch to 5K.
Starting a fresh fitness routine for the New Year. Towards the end of the year, I plan to walk a segment of the Southwest Coast Path that spans approximately a week.
I’ll be catching up with my buddy who plans on completing the full 360-mile coastal trek. In preparation, I’ve been taking walks during the week, carrying a backpack filled with some weight and wearing my boots to break them in.
I plan to resume jogging a couple of times each week. Additionally, I’ll get back on my bike regularly, and I want to work on building up the strength in my arms and shoulders with some weight training.
After it appeared that Fern seemed to make a subtle jab at her former husband, Phil Vickery, when she announced that she was now self-reliant and independent following their separation.
Previously known as the host of This Morning, she parted ways with her TV chef husband, aged 63, in 2020 following 22 years of marriage. Rumors swirled that he was deeply affected when photographs emerged of him kissing their mutual friend Lorraine Stanton in 2022.
In an interview on James Martin’s Saturday Kitchen, Fern, the mother of 22-year-old Winnie (with her former partner), expressed that life is better as a single woman because she no longer has anyone watching over her and making judgments about her actions.
In the mornings, I can comfortably settle in and enjoy as much daytime TV as I wish without any fear of judgment. Since there’s no need to dress up or apply makeup, it’s a leisurely and unpretentious way to start my day.

She added: “Now, I’m self-employed, which is fantastic on all fronts—my life, my work, everything feels more liberated. I’m the boss of myself, and I’m loving it.
Previously, Fern, who co-parents twins Harry and Jack (aged 29) as well as Grace (26), with her former spouse Clive Jones, openly acknowledged that she felt lost and had difficulties adjusting following her separation from Phil.
Reflecting on her romantic experiences while embracing contemporary social standards, Fern looked back on the challenging last seven years that included the heartbreaking loss of both her parents shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic.
In April 2018, the television personality lost her mother, Ruth, and then, towards the end of the subsequent year, her father, Tony Britton, also passed away.
During an appearance on Morning Live, Fern expressed: “Over the past seven years, life has been quite challenging. I’ve experienced losing both my parents, going through a divorce, dealing with the pandemic, and ultimately, feeling like I’ve lost touch with who I am.
She went on to say: “I found it hard to manage those things – I was overeating, neglecting my workouts.
I’m struggling a bit. Then it occurred to me that I need to regain my strength, which led me to think about the term ‘re-energizing’.
Speaking candidly about her romantic affairs, Fern commented: ‘We have control over our dating experiences. Looking back, things seemed more enjoyable when we were younger because everything was exciting. Nowadays, it’s all about swiping through profiles, which I dislike and choose not to engage in.’

I used to enjoy attending parties and looking forward to meeting new people. However, I no longer wish to encounter strangers or be included in large-scale social gatherings.
Simultaneously, in March, Phil Vickery posted a cryptic message on Instagram that appeared to hint at a past misunderstanding with Fern, as he mentioned having unintentionally ruined something positive.
In my expertise, I’ve noticed a common pattern: People often spoil a good thing by chasing after something supposedly ‘better,’ only to find themselves with something less desirable.
In January 2020, Fern made public the fact that her 20-year union with renowned chef Phil had come to an end. However, she emphasized that their bond would continue as a strong and lasting friendship.
During my time watching Celebrity Big Brother, I couldn’t help but notice that she openly admitted she has no plans to fall in love ever again.
Addressing Louis Walsh personally, I expressed, “Just like you, I’ve been steadily working since my early twenties. Now, it’s time for me to pace myself a bit more.
Louis concurs, expressing: “You understand the essence of life, and it strikes you why hadn’t I acted upon this before, why didn’t I venture there, why didn’t I take that action?
‘Fern, if you pick the right person you’ll have great fun, you might fall in love’
Fern replied: ‘I don’t want to fall in love again…’

Before entering the CBB house, Ferne said she had no interest in finding love again.
She shared with Weekend Magazine: “I’m currently single. There are many aspects of myself I wish to explore more deeply first, ensuring I’m prepared when the time comes to consider dating, otherwise I might find myself in a state of emotional turmoil, exclaiming, ‘He left me and it was devastating!’
‘Phil didn’t leave me, but it’s not the kind of topic you’d discuss on a first date when they’re just looking for someone pleasant to dine with. However, I prefer to live independently and cherish my personal space.’
At the time, an insider commented about the breakup: ‘Seeing Phil and Lorraine showing affection publicly would be devastating for poor Fern. Their display of affection seems reminiscent of young lovers, which will undoubtedly be very painful for her.’
Two individuals hold significant positions in her life, and observing such behavior from them in public would feel like a breach of trust.
In a recent chat with Prima Magazine, Fern expressed that she regretted not having been able to ‘keep going’ in their marriage.
Fern expressed that she doesn’t aspire to serve as the symbol for “separate”, and clarified that many relationships often reach a natural conclusion, as shared by numerous couples.
Looking back at my recent, yet friendly parting, she expressed: ‘It’s serendipitous that this new phase aligns with my timing. I don’t aspire to symbolize divorce, as many encounter similar experiences.’
Frequently, when the kids move out, there comes a moment when you both pause and ponder, “What’s next for us?” I wish I had the strength to keep going amidst such changes, but unfortunately, I didn’t, she shared.
