Fern Britton candidly admits ‘I’ve had a catalogue of difficult things to face’ as she reflects on turbulent past few years following stalker ordeal and divorce – amid five stone weight loss

In recent times, Fern Britton has openly discussed facing numerous challenges, which she experienced alongside her astonishing five-stone weight reduction.

The television host, aged 67, has endured various emotional challenges throughout her lifetime, including the divorce from Phil Vickery and a harrowing experience with a stalker.

Expressing her deep affection, Fern found solace in the company of her cherished felines, Dr Iain Mackerel and Barbar, while reminiscing about her past struggles, leaving her heartfelt and moved in Cornwall.

In her conversation with The Sunday Times, she mentioned that when she isn’t feeling good, one of her cats will consistently join her on the bed. They seem to follow a rotating schedule, much like a work shift.

In the past few years, this experience has been especially reassuring for me as I’ve encountered a series of challenging situations, ranging from setting up my new home in Cornwall to unexpectedly dealing with a stalker.

In her first marriage to Clive Jones, Fern gave birth to twins Harry and Jack, who are both 31 years old, as well as a daughter named Grace, aged 27. Apart from that, she has another daughter, Winnie, who is 23 years old, from a previous relationship with Phil.

Since her breakup with TV chef Phil, who is 63, in 2020, following two decades together, she has chosen to maintain privacy about her personal life and keep it away from public attention.

Recently, she confessed that she feels a sense of solitude, yet she’s not actively seeking romantic relationships, five years after her separation.

2020 marked a pivotal turning point in my life as I found myself standing at a crossroads, two decades into a shared journey with my beloved partner. The tragic passing of my parents left an indelible mark on my heart and soul, stirring within me the realization that we were meant to walk our own paths. This revelation, though painful, brought a sense of clarity and freedom, setting us both on new and exciting journeys as individuals.

She told Woman & Home: ‘I’m not looking for love – I’m still a bit too wary of losing my liberty.

In a nutshell, it seems that you’ve found yourself in a situation where there’s no one to consult about a matter. However, reflecting on past experiences of seeking advice from others, you’ve realized it didn’t often lead to favorable results. Consequently, you’re considering taking the reins and making your own decision instead. That way, if things don’t go as planned, you’ll be solely accountable for any mistakes.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m glad to share that last year, a ten-year restraining order was granted to me, along with 150 hours of community service, following an incident where a stalker admitted to harassing me, a TV presenter. This action served as a significant step towards ensuring my safety and peace of mind in the years to come.

James Haviland, aged 63 from Great Oaks Chase, Chineham, Hampshire, admitted to stalking the ex-host of This Morning for a period of two years without causing any fear, worry, or discomfort.

2021 marked the beginning of Haviland’s extended series of actions towards the woman of four children, aged 66, as he began to send her flowers and cards.

Three times, the man (who is married and lives in Hampshire) drove for approximately four hours to the village of Padstow, which is over 200 miles from his home. He did this because, as a child, the popular TV host (formerly of This Morning) had gone on holiday there.

As part of his oppressive behaviour, he even rented the holiday cottage which the star owns.

In 2020, the celebrity from Big Brother relocated a distance of approximately 270 miles away from her residence in Buckinghamshire, settling instead on the southwestern coastline of England, following her separation from Phil.

The presenter mentioned that it aided her recovery after their divorce and the loss of her parents, who had been married for twenty years.

In recent months, Fern has continued to showcase her incredible five stone weight loss

Lately, the presenter was casually stylish in a checkered jacket and pants, one hand gracefully placed on her svelte midriff, as shown in a recent Instagram snapshot.

In a recent interview with Woman & Home magazine, Fern discussed the pivotal moment that led to her significant weight reduction.

The presenter reflected on the powerful moment she decided to take back control of her health.

She informed the media outlet, “It’s common for people to question if someone who has lost a significant amount of weight did so through natural means.

‘And I can look at you and say, “Yes, I have”.’

18 months past my total shoulder replacement surgery, I recall that about two and a half years earlier, during my visit with the surgeon, he mentioned, “I’ll be performing a complete shoulder replacement on you. I’ll catch up with you in a year.

Reflecting on things, I realize it’s time for a change. I need to quit smoking, cut down on alcohol, manage my diet better, and stop spending too much time wallowing in self-pity in bed.

I recently began the Couch to 5k program, reduced my sugar intake by approximately 80%, and started paying attention to what I eat, which is something I hadn’t done before.

From 1999 to 2009, Fern gained widespread recognition as a familiar face alongside Philip Schofield. However, starting in 2009, Holly took over her role.

In the Big Brother House, I’ve made no secret about laying the blame on Phil for my departure from This Morning.

At the point when Fern departed from This Morning, it was asserted that she felt underappreciated by ITV and believed she was overshadowed by Phil.

Additionally, it’s stated that while they were co-hosting the show “Mr and Mrs” from 2008 to 2010, she was earning £250,000 less annually than Phil, and he was actually making three times her salary during this period.

Phil is said to have banked £45,000 an hour while Fern earned just £15,000.

In my professional opinion, I must clarify that I didn’t depart from ITV due to my remuneration alone. Instead, when I bid farewell, I chose to acknowledge the entire This Morning team, not just Phillip, as being instrumental in my decision.

Four years after her departure, Phillip admitted he and Fern no longer spoke.
