Fergie reportedly axed from Loose Women in wake of Jeffrey Epstein scandal

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, has reportedly been removed from the panel of the ITV show Loose Women due to the fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. She had been a regular on the daytime program for several years. Recently, the Mail On Sunday published a 2011 email where she referred to Epstein as a “supreme friend,” even though she had publicly criticized him just weeks before. In the email, she also claimed to have ended their relationship after his 2008 conviction for sex offenses involving a minor.

Following the recent news, the BBC has confirmed that Ferguson has lost support from several charities. According to MailOnline, she will also no longer be featured on ITV programs like Loose Women and This Morning.

Digital Spy has reached out to ITV for comment.

Last month, Jane Moore, a fellow panelist on Loose Women, wrote in The Sun that while Sarah Ferguson is a genuinely kind and positive person, her inexperience combined with a taste for luxury has often led to unpredictable behavior.

This blatant attempt to appease a truly awful person isn’t just a weakness; it’s driven by selfish greed and a desperate need to protect oneself, and most damagingly, it’s a betrayal of Epstein’s victims.

This follows Prince Andrew giving up his Duke of York title after his connections to Jeffrey Epstein, who died in 2019, came to light.

Andrew Prince became much more widely known for negative reasons after a highly criticized interview on the BBC’s Newsnight program that same year. Following the interview, he stepped down from his public duties.

The story of the interview was recently told in two TV dramas: the Netflix film Scoop, starring Rufus Sewell, and the Prime Video series A Very Royal Scandal, featuring Michael Sheen.

In a review for Digital Spy, Scoop was described as a solid retelling of the story it’s based on, and a way to acknowledge the hard work of the journalists involved. While it doesn’t break any new ground, it’s a sincere tribute to those working in a challenging and unstable field.
