Felipe Pantone and Etai Bring Their ‘Parallel Practices’ to Albertz Benda This Summer

Summary

  • Albertz Benda Los Angeles hosts a joint exhibition by Felipe Pantone and Etai from July 17 to August 8, 2026
  • Mid-century furniture is digitally remapped and upholstered with custom Limonta fabrics

I’m so excited about the upcoming show at Albertz Benda! It’s the first time Felipe Pantone and the designer Etai are working together, and it sounds amazing. The exhibition, called Parallel Practices: Tailored Structures & Kinetic Surfaces, is going to be held in the gallery’s Los Angeles space – which is actually a really cool mid-century modern house. What I love is that it’s not just about displaying art; they’re setting up Pantone’s work and their furniture pieces together to create a whole environment that makes you think about how we live now, what things are useful for, and how we connect with our surroundings. It’s going to be a really immersive experience, not just looking at art, but feeling like you’re in it.

The exhibition showcases new furniture designs created through a unique collaboration. The process involved carefully taking apart and rebuilding existing mid-century modern pieces sourced from Los Angeles. Designer Etai used digital mapping to reimagine these pieces, and then Pantone created custom fabrics—made by the renowned Italian textile company Limonta—to complement the redesigned furniture. The result is a striking combination of modern designs and classic shapes, where vibrant fabrics are seamlessly integrated while maintaining the original functionality of each piece.

Pantone’s colorful, moving wall sculptures both inspire ideas and draw the eye, and are intentionally placed to complement the furniture. These artworks use repeating patterns and a sense of movement to reflect how information flows in the digital world. The same vibrant colors found in the sculptures are also used in the fabrics throughout the space, creating a cohesive visual experience.

The exhibition Parallel Practices: Tailored Structures & Kinetic Surfaces will be on view at Albertz Benda’s Los Angeles gallery from July 17th to August 8th, 2026.
