Feeling Like Myself Again!
Teddi Mellencamp is resuming competitive horseback riding, feeling more like her usual self following several weeks after undergoing a significant operation to take out multiple brain tumors.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the celebrated star, who is now 43, disclosed her recent debut in a horse derby following the operation. Remarkably, she managed to secure the sixth position overall.
In a cheerful post, Teddi (daughter of musician John Mellencamp) expressed that she is gradually regaining her usual self, as she uploaded pictures and clips from the competition.
On her Instagram Stories last Friday, Teddi was clearly at ease as she skillfully navigated Tiffany Kraft Sinay’s horse along the course with confidence.
In the video, Mellencamp thanked Tiffkraftsinay for her kindness in allowing him to ride her horse during his comeback derby, expressing his gratitude in simple and natural language.
‘6th place. Starting to feel like myself again,’ she added.
She followed it up with a photo of her proudly nuzzling the horse after they landed in sixth place.
Teddi beamed as she cuddled the horse, a green sixth place ribbon affixed beside their ear.
‘Embassy Row you are such a love bug,’ she continued.
I tell you, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw Teddi’s steed, none other than Totally, crossing the finish line in fourth place! Mark Kinsella was on his back, but it was clear as day that it was Totally who had earned that spot with sheer determination. Simply incredible!
A week ago, Teddi explained her choice to get back on a horse following her urgent brain surgery, which had taken place several weeks earlier.
During a particularly difficult period, the star found tremendous mental wellness advantages from indulging in her love for horseback riding.
‘I appreciate your encouragement, everyone! I’m doing well and my doctors have given me the green light to bike today.’ (This version maintains the original meaning but uses simpler language and avoids technical jargon.)
‘Seeing you at the show today will bring joy to both my heart and spirit. If we cross paths, and if you feel the need to discourage me, I politely request that you hold off on doing so.’
This version keeps the original meaning intact while using more natural and conversational language. It’s important to maintain a friendly and considerate tone when asking someone to refrain from doing something.
She went on to say: ‘For six months, I didn’t realize I had large growths in my brain. Fortunately, they have been successfully removed now.’

When you’re ill, especially if it’s something like cancer, taking care of your mental well-being becomes crucial. It’s vital to persevere, find pleasure, and set personal objectives for myself,” she emphasized.
She expressed, “I will continually strive to excel and discover means to cherish and savor life. Thank you for joining me on this adventure. I find no room for pessimism or disheartening thoughts.
Originally a skilled horse rider, this individual (who has kids named Slate (12), Cruz (10), and Dove (5) with her separated partner Edwin Arroyave) started horseback riding when she was just four years old.
Lately, Teddi’s life has been extremely tough due to the shocking discovery of brain tumors, which necessitated urgent surgical intervention.
Initially, the former Bravo star disclosed that she was scheduled for a surgery to remove two larger tumors. The smaller ones would be treated with radiation at a later point in time.
The brain tumors were found in mid-February, after she suffered debilitating headaches.
Teddi has also been battling skin cancer since 2022.

Last week, the star announced on Instagram that medical professionals found additional tumors – specifically, two in her lungs and three in her brain. She mentioned that she would start immunotherapy and radiation therapy treatments right away.
In a recent update, she shared the results from her scans: There are numerous brain tumors that couldn’t be surgically removed due to their location, as well as two lung tumors. These tumors are actually metastases from her melanoma, which was first diagnosed last week.
‘The doctors are hopeful that immunotherapy will effectively treat them.’
In a playful manner, I expressed my optimism: “I’m feeling quite confident – confident enough to say I’ll conquer this challenge, I’ve got a handle on this new hairdo (it’s short, and I appreciate the style, but not the bald patches), and I can rattle off Angelina’s brood of kids with ease.
‘Now, as @bravoandy would say: with all due… f*** off, cancer!’
