Fears for another Channel Ten star after network swung the axe on fellow six-figure hosts Jonathan LaPaglia and Rodger Corser

Concerns have arisen about Beau Ryan within Channel Ten, as executive decisions led to the termination of Jonathan LaPaglia’s role as co-host on Top Gear and put the show on hold.

For over forty years, the well-known presenter of The Amazing Race Australia decided to take a break from his Triple M Sydney radio program in March to shoot the approaching ‘Celebrity Version’ season instead.

Beau began hosting the show when it debuted on Ten back in 2019, which was five years following Channel Seven’s decision to terminate the program.

A reliable source tells Daily Mail Australia that there is real worry about the ex-NRL player who now works as a TV host, especially since he earns a consistent income by hosting the global travel-based reality show.

Beau has backing from his friends, specifically JLP and Rodger Corser, who are in his corner. However, there’s a sense of unease across Network Ten currently, as no one is feeling secure.

2021 saw the ex-league superstar disclose on The Kyle & Jackie O Show that he received a $800,000 salary for hosting The Amazing Race.

He clarified, “When you’re being compensated for a task, it’s important to consider the time spent. So, how many hours are we putting in here?

Kyle Sandilands inquired, “Is that part of your routine? When watching The Amazing Race, do you contemplate the duration of your travels?

‘Yeah,’ Beau said. ‘[I was away] for two to three months and I got paid $800,000.’

As a trusted guide in the realm of lifestyle, I can’t help but express some apprehension regarding my friend Beau, given the recent departures of veteran hosts Jonathan LaPaglia and Rodger Corser from their respective roles. While it’s important to remember that change is an inevitable part of any industry, I can’t shake off the feeling that Beau might be facing a similar situation. My hope lies in the strength of his talent and resilience as he navigates through this uncertain period.

In late 2024, Ten decided to part ways with Rodger amicably after their quirky reality series, The Traitors, was no longer on the air. Now, at age 52, Rodger is hosting Channel Nine’s highly successful game show, The Floor.

Inside sources suggest that these mysterious dismissals seem less about the usual reshuffling for new blood, and more about financial management or budgeting concerns.

It’s said that Network Ten allegedly found the higher salary requests presented by certain agents and celebrities’ management this year difficult to accept, leading some to speculate that these negotiations may have had unfavorable outcomes.

It appears that Robert Irwin’s stint as co-host on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! has been quite popular. However, when it comes time to renegotiate his contract, reports suggest that his salary will increase threefold, causing those in charge to pause and consider the financial implications carefully.

As a lifestyle expert, I might rephrase that statement as follows: “I’ve learned that some companies are making cost-cutting decisions by releasing their expensive personnel, according to my recent findings.

‘The network is being asked to cut costs. They aren’t making changes haphazardly; instead, they’re carefully considering value, longevity, and appeal to younger audiences.’

However, Beau appeared quite enthusiastic as he discussed the upcoming developments of The Amazing Race with Daily Mail Australia this past week.

‘Celebrity Edition is an incredible series filmed in some of the most epic locations,’ he said.

‘We have a great line-up of teams.

‘Also, a location that is a first for The Amazing Race franchise history. It’s next level.’

The father-of-two added:  ‘It’s always tough to leave my family for filming.’

Leaving my colleagues at Triple M for five weeks was quite challenging due to my affection for the radio program, its audience, and the entire team.

I’m looking forward to the upcoming season of The Amazing Race being aired during the radio survey interval, so I don’t have to be off-air for long.

I manage to keep up with my commitments related to The Amazing Race Australia, as the team from Triple M and Paramount assist me in balancing things. They are aware that this program has occupied a significant portion of my life and calendar for the past six years.

However, conversations around The Amazing Race’s future have reportedly become more urgent.

Despite Beau’s continued popularity on screen, the show’s viewership numbers have failed to meet the production costs in recent times.

According to a seasoned producer, it’s no longer about who is the most skilled. Instead, it’s about who offers the optimal balance of cost and brand alignment.

Meanwhile, Top Gear is still up in the air with Ten’s streaming partner Paramount+.

‘There were talks [season two filming] could be the end of this year,’ Beau revealed.

However, given the extensive preparation required for this event, it seems likely that it won’t take place until either 2026 or 2027. We can only speculate for now.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Channel Ten for comment.

The recent development at Ten concerns the fact that Jonathan LaPaglia recently announced his departure from hosting Australian Survivor, which occurred last month.

The individual, aged 55, who has been the face of the popular series since 2016, is set to appear for the last time during the upcoming season titled “Australia V The World”, which is scheduled to broadcast later in the year.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Jonathan said he was shocked by Channel Ten’s decision to let him go.

Beau informed Daily Mail Australia that he’s confident Jonathan will take on another hosting role when he feels prepared.

‘He is an incredible talent and you can see by the overwhelming support how loved he is.’

The former league star confirmed he called JLP as soon as he heard the news.

I had a conversation with him because he’s an exceptional individual and a dear friend. He understands that I’m always ready to support him, just like he stands by me.

network 10 is delighted to welcome Beau Ryan as part of their on-air team, according to a representative from the company.
