Fearne Cotton reveals she has had surgery to remove two tumours on her jawline as she gives health update
As a concerned observer, it seems that Fearne and Davina are going through challenging times health-wise, but their resilience and optimism shine brightly amidst these situations. These two women have always been strong role models, and their recent experiences serve as a testament to their strength and grace under pressure.
Fearne Cotton has shared that a surgery to take out two tumors from her jawline has progressed ‘exceptionally well’, and she is currently in the process of healing.
On Tuesday evening, the popular television and radio personality announced that she would soon undergo surgery due to discovering two growing, yet benign tumors, as confirmed by doctors.
On a personal note, I wanted to share some good news: yesterday’s operation turned out wonderfully. Now, I’m focusing on rest and recovery. I can’t express enough gratitude for the countless thoughtful messages I’ve received – thank you all!
Fearne’s recent news follows closely on the heels of her friend Davina McCall, aged 57, who also underwent surgery due to an extremely uncommon brain tumor discovery just a few weeks ago.
Previously on Celebrity Juice, the show’s former host expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Davina, stating that she provided immense encouragement following the discovery of the host’s tumors. She referred to Davina as an inspiring symbol of optimism.
Davina quickly responded to Fearne’s Tuesday evening post in the comments section, saying: ‘Sending you an abundance of healing and love; I’m eagerly looking forward to giving you a comforting, tender hug.’
Initially, her renowned peers expressed their backing, and radio host Zoe Ball exclaimed affectionately, “You’re so brave, dear! Remember, you’ll be in good hands. Sending you all my love, x.
And fellow Radio DJ Lauren Laverne echoed: ‘Well done for getting sorted, doll. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery and sending tons of love your way. You’ll be reet. Xx’
In her own words, Kate Lawler expressed: “Sending you both affection, Fearne. I look forward to seeing you again on this platform soon. Get some rest and take care. Lots of warm hugs, XX ❤️❤️
Singer Sophie Ellis Bextor expressed her sentiments by saying, “Take care, beautiful lady, and I send you a heap of love xxx.” Meanwhile, Perrie Edwards from Little Mix posted, “Sending you lots of love ❤️.
Actress Minnie Driver expressed: “I love you, Fearne. Sending you loads of love,” and comedian John Bishop commented: “Wishing your recovery proceeds smoothly ❤️.” (or)
Harry Styles’ mother Anne Twist commented: ‘Take all the time you need Fearne. Sending lots of love xxx’ and Lisa Snowdon said: ‘Sending love and well wishes beautiful ❤️❤️’.
Gabby Logan, the sports presenter, expressed: ‘I’m sending you a heap of love,’ while singer Beverley Knight similarly penned: ‘I’m sending you love, Fearne.’
Presenter Nicki Chapman, who underwent surgery to remove a non-cancerous brain tumor in 2019, expressed: “Sending tons of love xxxx” (implying affectionate greetings).
In a characteristic display of her humor, Dawn French replied as follows: “If you need me to perform the operation itself, just let me know… I can purchase the necessary tools on my drive and I’ve already got ‘The Ladybird Book of The Body’ handy. So, I’m all set. Best regards.
In her video’s title, Fearne mentioned: “Hello everyone, I’ll be taking a break for a while because of an operation. I discovered a lump beneath my ear on my jawline some time ago, and this year I realized it was getting larger.
It seems that the growth is actually a harmless tumor, and there’s another minor one located near the salivary gland. I’m maintaining a hopeful outlook and plan to use this time for relaxation and taking things easy.
If you notice a lump, bump, or anything unusual about your body, don’t hesitate to seek medical advice. I’m really grateful I did because delaying can make problems grow bigger and more complex over time.
It’s quite astonishing how just a few months back, Davina shared her cancer diagnosis with me, and then unexpectedly, I found myself in the same situation after discovering my own tumor. Fortunately, not only am I blessed to have Davina as an amazing friend, but she also serves as a guiding light and source of optimism during this challenging time.
‘Sending you all loads of love and I’ll see you soon.’
In the video, Fearne pointed out the locations of her tumors, allaying concerns from her followers by expressing that she was “doing well and feeling good.” She mentioned, however, that she would reduce her online presence to rest after the surgery.
She mentioned that she would carry on with her well-known podcast, The Happy Place, as usual, having many episodes already recorded in advance.
Greetings all, I trust you’re well. I wanted to let you know that I may not be as active on here for the upcoming two weeks or so since I need to undergo a surgery.
I have two small, non-cancerous growths, one near my lower jaw by the ear and another higher up, near the same area. Although I’m thankful they’re not harmful, their proximity to a nerve requires surgical removal.
“I’ll be having the operation, followed by recovery time prior to Christmas. Frankly, taking time to rest isn’t my strong suit, but I’m trying to stay optimistic about it. Overall, I feel good and well.
Here’s my attempt: “Once I get through this, I’m looking forward to binge-watching plenty of TV shows. Rest assured, the podcast will continue as usual. While I’m away, you can expect the regular content to keep coming your way, thanks to the episodes I’ve already prepared. I’ll catch up with you soon!
Last month, Davina shared that she underwent brain tumour surgery, after revealing she had a ‘very rare’ colloid cyst that affects only three in a million people.
As an ardent admirer, let me share an unexpected twist in the presenter’s journey. She casually mentioned that she underwent a routine health check-up, or what she believed to be a breeze, a ‘health scan’. Little did she know, it would unveil an unusual finding – a benign brain tumor. Shockingly, this diagnosis is exceptionally rare, occurring only three times in a million cases.
For a short period, I chose to avoid dealing with the issue at hand by seeking advice from a few neurosurgeons. After hearing their numerous opinions, I came to understand that I needed to confront the problem head-on.
This item is rather large, measuring about 14 millimeters across. It must be extracted as its growth could lead to problems. I am getting it taken out.
She concluded her message: ‘Say a prayer for me. I’m in good spirits.’
