Every year, EA recognizes the top performers from the past calendar year by honoring them with the Team of the Year event. So, kick back, relax, and get ready for an unforgettable experience ahead.

This special occasion showcases one of the season’s most esteemed and thrilling events – the Team of the Year highlights the top-notch footballers from The World’s Game, as selected by fans. Main

This season, just as it has been, I find that the first tab, or my “Main Hub,” serves as a sort of roadmap for the upcoming chapters and the whole event. It doesn’t have any standalone functions but instead links me to other tabs such as the Team of the Year (TOTY) Quests, Challenge Modes, Trade Options, and Store Deals.

Consequently, the Introduction section serves as a hub for effortlessly moving between various game modes that provide event-related Rewards. Notably, this Introduction Tab features a TOTY Nominee Showcase, which comprises four matches daily against teams of TOTY Nominee candidates. By playing these games, you can acquire Coins, Gems, Players, Training Transfer Points, and ultimately, the Universal Rank Player – Mascherano as a final reward.

Indeed, you’ll get these rewards on a daily basis! Here’s the scoop: For the upcoming 44 days, there’s an opportunity to claim a free Mascherano every day. All you need to do is participate in the TOTY Nominee Showcase matches. By familiarizing yourself with the TOTY candidates and tweaking their teams, you can collect the daily rewards.

Find out who are this year’s leading contenders, all vying for a place in the prestigious XI – The Team of the Year lineup. The official list will be unveiled at a later date, accompanied by exclusive TOTY Player Items to honor each player’s popularity among fans. Stay updated as fresh Chapters and Players are rolled out, featuring Icons, Honourable Mentions, and the coveted UTOTY – the Ultimate Team of the Year!

Road to Icon

In the “Road to Icon,” you’ll sign in daily and participate in a sequence of progressive skill challenges or PvE matches against AI opponents. These activities grant you TOTY Icon Tokens each day within the TOTY: Road to Icon section. Be aware that as you advance through the tiers, both the challenge level and the amount of TOTY Icon Tokens you receive will increase.

The initial level, labeled “Easy,” grants you 150 Total of the Year Icon Tokens daily. Moving up to the “Hard” level increases your tokens to 200 TOTY Icon Tokens per day. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, the “Crazy” tier rewards a substantial 300 TOTY Icon Tokens each day. Keep in mind that while you can participate in all three levels daily, you can only collect rewards from one of them. In case you don’t win a match, you’ll have additional attempts to try again. So, choose carefully before claiming your TOTY Icon Tokens reward.

Gather matches to collect TOTY Icon Tokens, and you can choose from three different difficulty levels each day. You’ll also find two daily ads within this section that you can watch for extra TOTY Icon Tokens. On the right-hand side of the TOTY: Road to Icon section is the Road to Icon Rewards, where you can redeem your earned TOTY Icon Tokens for various rewards, with no repeated rewards given.

As a gamer, I’m excited to find that this week’s loot box is reminiscent of the Reward Boxes from previous seasons. This time around, I could score TOTY Icon Tokens, regular players, TOTY event players, Training Transfer Points, Gems, Coins, and a Universal Rank Player – Mascherano. There are a whopping 10 unique sets of rewards within the Weekly Reward Box, none of which can be claimed twice. Yes, this box resets every week and will reset for the first four weeks of the event.

As a passionate fan, I’d happily shell out 100 TOTY Icon Tokens every week to snag some fantastic rewards, with the ultimate goal of securing the coveted TOTY Icons Player. Along the way, there are enticing Milestone Rewards up for grabs if you manage to claim all four weeks of the Road to Icon Rewards Box. The rewards on offer are truly impressive – you could walk away with three top-tier 104 OVR TOTY Icons and a hefty 150 TOTY Shards! Some of the potential Icons include the legendary 104 OVR Left Winger Robert Pires, the creative maestro 104 OVR Central Attacking Midfielder Gianfranco Zola, and the defensive stalwart 104 OVR Central Back Rafael Márquez. It’s an exciting opportunity for any football gaming enthusiast!

To receive the Milestone Rewards, you’ll first need to finish the Road to Icon Rewards for all four weeks of the event. As for the Icons, whichever ones you claim are non-transferable. If you’re not a fan of the player, remember that the free 150 TOTY Shards are up for grabs for everyone!

TOTY Gallery

In the last tab of the TOTY Gallery, previously all event-exclusive players were shown. However, this time there’s a change reminiscent of the Winter Wonders event. Alongside being available in Packs if luck is on your side, you can also obtain these players using a new currency, TOTY Shards.

As a passionate fan, I’m excited to share that there are six groups of players, each with an Overview Rating (OVR) between 103 and 107. These untradeable players are continually updated with fresh additions every week! The more Shards you collect throughout the event, the more chances you have to secure these top-tier players. Additionally, surplus Team of the Year (TOTY) Players can be swapped for TOTY Shards.

Each week, you’ll find new players in the Gallery section of the TOTY event! Drop by the Gallery to discover all Player Items that have been added for that specific week. Moreover, there is a Daily Bonus pack up for grabs, which may contain Coins, Gems, or Players with an Overview Rating (OVR) between 75 and 97. However, you should not anticipate receiving anything higher than some top-tier players this week.

Just like the Winter Wonders event, there’s also an Exchange Store located on the far right side where you can swap your TOTY event Players if you happen to get any. This way, you can earn TOTY Shards and subsequently exchange them for specific players. Conversely, you can trade in TOTY event Players for TOTY Shards as well.

In this setup, the trades are quite captivating as they center around swapping TOTY event Players exclusively for TOTY Shards. If, from the image provided, you decide to exchange a 105 TOTY event Player, be it tradeable or not if it doesn’t fit your team, you will receive 120 TOTY Shards in return. These shards can then be used to obtain a player better suited for your squad later on.

Keep in mind, you have two options to acquire TOTY event players: one is by purchasing them from the Market, and the other is through the Gem Pack offers available in the Store at approximately 2500-3000 Gems. However, be aware that any player you aim for from this event will be untradeable, meaning you won’t be able to sell it and make a profit on the Market.

Challenge Mode

Instead of a mini-event, there’s going to be a special gameplay mode called “Challenge Mode”! This mode resembles past events and provides an opportunity to compete against players with higher Overall Rank Values (OVR). However, you won’t earn any currencies specific to the Team of the Year (TOTY) in this mode.

Every day and during weekends, there will be two types of challenges: Daily Challenges and Weekend Specials. Completing these challenges rewards you with Players, Gems, and Coins. Since there are no Head-to-Head or Division Rival matches involved, winning should be quite straightforward. Remember to participate in the Weekend Challenge as it offers a chance to earn players with an Overview Rating (OVR) of up to 99-107!

Star Pass

Absolutely, the Star Pass is operational concurrently with the ongoing event. The Star Pass contains in-game resources that you can utilize. By finishing quests during the event, you’ll make progress on your Star Pass, which offers rewards like Coins, Gems, Training Transfer Points, FC Points, and various Cosmetic items such as Emotes and Kits.

For the first-time users of the Star Pass, they’ll find event-specific currencies! In this instance, you can acquire TOTY Shards from both the free and premium sections of the Star Pass. Notably, purchasing the Premium Star Pass will yield a substantial quantity of TOTY Shards for your use.

Make sure you take a look at the latest TOTY-themed Star Pass, featuring a 108 OVR pre-ranked CM Patrick Vieira! Remember to complete your daily tasks for progress in the Star Pass. Accumulating Star Pass Credits will grant you access to more rewards as you advance along the Star Pass track. The Star Pass consists of two tiers: free and premium. Additionally, you can use FC Points to accelerate through the Star Pass levels and gather rewards quicker.

TOTY Icon Tokens

• Earn them by completing Skill Games or PvE AI Matches from the Road to Icon tab
• Spend them in the Road to Icon Rewards section to open Rewards in the Road to Icon tab

TOTY Nominee A Points

• Earn them by completing PvE AI Matches from the Today’s Theme Matches section in the TOTY Nominee A tab
• Spend them in the Match 2 section to flip Player Items and earn the Milestone Rewards in the TOTY Nominee A tab

TOTY Nominee B Points

• Earn them by completing PvE AI Matches or PvP-based VSA and H2H matches from the TOTY 3 Wins Mission in the TOTY Nominee B tab
• Spend them in the Reward Path to open Rewards in the TOTY Nominee B tab

TOTY Shards

• Earn them by exchanging extra TOTY Player from the Gallery tab
• Spend them in the Gallery tab to obtain the TOTY Player of your choice

Running the Math for F2P Players

As per our calculations, the following sums up the chances for F2P Players.

Resource Management

Because Challenge Mode doesn’t award Total Version of the Year (TOTY) Icon Tokens, it means you can’t get more tokens from there. However, if you have saved Winter Wonders Tokens from previous events, you can trade them at a rate of 15 Winter Wonders Tokens for 1 TOTY Icon Token at an Exchange Rate. This totals to 300 times, which is equivalent to 4500 Winter Wonders Tokens for 300 TOTY Icon Tokens. Excluding this method, you can accumulate tokens just by playing the event.

You can get at least a minimum of 14960 TOTY Icon Tokens from playing the event

You’ll also have the opportunity to collect extra TOTY Icon Tokens by swapping 6000 Universal Tokens for 400 TOTY Icon Tokens at a rate of 15 Universal Tokens for every 1 TOTY Icon Token, which can be done once daily. Focusing on accumulating Universal Tokens through Daily Chronicles, matches in VSA, H2H, and Manager mode will help you amass more Vote Tickets each day.
