FBI Team Is “Very Worried” For Maggie After Family Tragedy As Missy Peregrym Skips Next Season 8 Episode

Warning: This article contains major spoilers for FBI season 8, episode 14, “Forgiven.”

In the latest episode of FBI, Agent Maggie Bell faced a significant loss. Juliana Aidén Martinez, who plays a member of the team, has discussed how this event will impact the show moving forward.

The fourteenth episode of FBI’s eighth season, titled “Forgiven,” featured a personal crisis for agent Maggie when her sister, Erin, was kidnapped by Ray DiStefano. Despite a frantic search, Maggie couldn’t save Erin, and the episode tragically concluded with the revelation of her death.

Missy Peregrym, who plays Maggie, won’t be in the next episode of the show. But when she returns the following week, her colleagues will be understandably worried, according to comments Martinez made to TV Insider about how the team will respond to the recent events.

Martinez described how, after a deeply upsetting experience like Maggie’s, people naturally sense what others are going through and offer support. It’s about recognizing when someone is really struggling and connecting with them.

The FBI team wants to support Maggie while she grieves her sister, but everyone shows care in different ways. They need to find a good balance between being there for her and giving her the space she needs to heal without feeling overwhelmed.

Losing a sister is incredibly difficult, and everyone on the team recognizes that Maggie is going through a lot. They’re all trying to be sensitive to her needs and give her the support and space she needs, but everyone handles grief differently. The team just wants to make sure she’s doing okay.

Eva Ramos, a new addition to the team on FBI, will likely handle cases differently than her colleagues, who have a long-standing relationship with Maggie. Despite wanting to build a strong working connection and collaborate, Eva will need to be cautious as she gets to know everyone.

According to Martinez, Maggie might not fully trust Eva yet because they haven’t developed a strong connection.

It’s similar to being cautious and careful. However, Eva really wants to connect with people and form partnerships, so the question is, how much will Maggie trust her and let her get involved?

Recently, actress Peregrym discussed the challenge of determining who Maggie can rely on as she deals with her sister’s death, and it seems she was specifically thinking about Eva when she said that.

In the next episode of FBI, with Maggie away to manage funeral plans, Eva will lead an investigation into a drug kingpin she knows from her past. She’s conflicted, trying to balance doing her job correctly with her desire for personal revenge.

On the March 30th episode, Maggie will be back, but a new case brings some changes. Nikki Reynard (played by Necar Zadegan), a deputy chief from the new FBI spin-off CIA, will join the investigation after a double homicide occurs.

Before landing a role on FBI, Sofia Martinez was recognized for her work on Griselda, which earned her an Imagen Award nomination, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She’s also appeared in guest roles on shows like The Mysteries of Laura, Prodigal Son, The Blacklist, and 9-1-1.

As a big fan of FBI, I’ve really gotten to know and appreciate the whole cast! Besides Julianna Margulies and Missy Peregrym, you’ve got Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, Alana de la Garza, John Boyd, Taylor Anthony Miller, Vedette Lim, Shantel VanSanten, and Emily Alabi all bringing their A-game to the show. It’s a seriously talented group of actors!

FBI airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
