FBI Season 7 will not premiere in September 2024, but we don't have to wait too long

As a dedicated FBI fan with years of watching under my belt, I must admit, CBS’s decision to push back the Season 7 premiere is a tough pill to swallow. But hey, it’s not like I don’t have a stack of other shows to binge in the meantime! October might be chilly, but at least it’ll bring the warmth of FBI back into my life.

Typically, by the end of August, we’re brimming with exciting updates. We’re gearing up for our events to resume next month. Unfortunately for FBI enthusiasts, Season 7 won’t kick off in September 2024.

The delay in the premiere of FBI Season 7 on CBS is not due to any strike action or filming delays, nor is it being held over for midseason. Instead, CBS has decided to alter their schedule, and as a result, we’ll have to wait an extra month before FBI Season 7 begins. The reason behind this change remains unclear.

At least there’s a release date set for now. We’re hoping to learn much more about the show by the close of September.

FBI Season 7 premiere date confirmed for October 2024

In some good news, CBS has confirmed the premiere dates for the fall schedule, and FBI is back. The show will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 15, with the episode airing at 8 p.m. ET/PT. This is a night of FBI premieres as both Most Wanted and International are back on the same night.

As a gamer, I’ve got some updates for you! It turns out we’re in for a full 22-episode ride, which is fantastic news! However, it seems not all our favorite characters will appear in every episode. This show appears to be following a pattern similar to other Dick Wolf shows on NBC – they occasionally take a break from two to three episodes a season. The idea behind this is to help keep costs manageable.

What to expect in FBI Season 7

The upcoming seventh season is set for some shifts, as the series has just announced Katherine Renee Kane’s departure. She will appear in at least one episode, providing Tiffany with a potential exit plotline. Could this parting be due to emotional fallout from Hobbs’ experiences, or will her role be deemed unsatisfactory after all?

In the upcoming episodes, we’ll introduce a new character named Lisette Olivera, who goes by Syd. This character is a member of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) and will be a recurring figure in the series. Given her continued presence, it seems that Kane may no longer hold this role.

Beyond this point, not much is revealed concerning the approaching season. We’re eagerly anticipating various plot developments, one of which involves shedding light on Jubal’s drinking habits.
