FBI season 7 premiere: Tiffany Wallace exit explained

As a dedicated FBI fan who has followed the journey of Tiffany Wallace since day one, I must say that her departure in season 7 was bittersweet. The premiere episode was a rollercoaster of emotions for me, as I watched my beloved character bid farewell to her team.

It became clear during season 7 that Tiffany Wallace would depart from FBI, and we anticipated that this departure would somehow tie into the season 6 finale. Our suspicions were confirmed in the premier episode.

Caution: This post contains spoilers for the FBI season 6 premiere.

In the first installment, the team encountered a self-contained case, yet our attention primarily centered around Tiffany. It was revealed that Katherine Renee Kane, the character, would be departing during season 7, leaving us with just this one episode to enjoy her presence.

There were numerous speculations regarding her departure, but ultimately, the narrative didn’t live up to the expectations.

Tiffany had already resigned before the FBI season 7 premiere

It emerged that Tiffany had decided to leave her position prior to the first episode’s airing. On her final day, she joined Scola and the rest of the team on their mission, signaling her reluctance to be in the field. This implied that an agent who isn’t fully committed can be more risky than one might think, suggesting she was preparing for a desk job. This twist is unexpected given Tiffany’s character development up until this point, but life often takes us by surprise.

Regardless of Scola’s attempts at persuasion, convincing her was never an option, as Tiffany astutely noted – Scola simply lacked the ability to sway her opinion on matters.

What’s next for Tiffany in FBI?

The positive aspect is that Tiffany’s departure isn’t final; it’s more of a temporary goodbye, as Tiffany wasn’t written out of the storyline. When Maggie proposed they grab a drink, Tiffany shared that she was moving to Georgia to be near her sister instead.

She made clear that she sought resolution following the events involving Agent Hobbs. She assumed that with Hakim’s absence, she might find closure, but this proved untrue. Therefore, a new beginning seems necessary.

FBI season 7 airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS. Catch up the following day on Paramount+.
