FBI: Most Wanted Star Bids Emotional Farewell After Surprise CBS Cancellation

Actor Edwin Hodge expressed his appreciation for the series following the completion of filming its last episode. For three seasons, Hodge portrayed FBI Special Agent Ray Cannon on the CBS crime drama.

In March, followers of the “FBI” series were taken aback when not one but two spin-offs, “FBI: Most Wanted” and “FBI: International”, were canceled, leaving only the original “FBI” show on TV for the time being. CBS is currently working on a new spinoff centered around the CIA, but it’s still in its initial stages.

CBS Canceled Both FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted in March

Last week, the cast of “FBI: Most Wanted” completed filming on the season six finale and final episode. Hodge, one of the actors, posted some backstage photos with his fellow cast members on social media. Additionally, he expressed his feelings about being part of the FBI franchise.

Every wonderful experience eventually concludes. I am overflowing with gratitude and admiration for this exceptional team of actors and technicians. I can’t thank the cast enough for being natural and genuine. Each day at work was filled with joy because of their laughter.

Hodge specifically recognized the tireless efforts of the team behind FBI: Most Wanted, who were instrumental in creating the show’s exhilarating action scenes.

The team consistently brought their unique touch to make the program successful, as expressed in his message. To put it simply, they were always present and ready to contribute. I’m thrilled to say that the atmosphere on set was fantastic, and overall, my time on the show was truly enjoyable! Look forward to sharing some fresh projects with you this year.

All good things must come to an end.”

The wife of the actor, Skye P. Marshall who is known for her role in Matlock, also expressed gratitude towards the team of FBI: Most Wanted. In a post, she wrote: “Terrific cast, both on and off camera! I’ll miss this show ❤️ Kudos to your excellent work!

Shantel VanSanten, known for her role as FBI Special Agent Nina Chase on the CBS drama, snapped photos with several of her colleagues standing beneath a beautiful cherry blossom tree, paying tribute to the series coming to an end.

CBS Has Canceled Six Shows So Far in 2025

The Network Has Cut Both Long-Running Procedurals and New Comedies in a Surprise Move

  • Alongside FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International, CBS has canceled Queen Latifah’s action dramas The Equalizer and S.W.A.T.
  • New reality format The Summit — which tested its contestants to extreme physical challenges — was dropped after just a single season in April.
  • CBS has also axed Damon Wayans Sr. and Jr’s comedy series Poppa’s House after one season.

I’ll surely be sad to see the cherished cherry blooms 🌸 🩷 disappear. They’ve brought a touch of joy and light into my days. Shout-out to @roxysternberg, @kelly_cattani, and @thefashtress for sharing this delightful moment,” she posted on [Instagram].

As two FBI series conclude their current seasons, CBS is ensuring the longevity of the franchise. Earlier reports indicated that the network and producer Dick Wolf are collaborating on a new show which will depict FBI agents cooperating with the CIA.

The wolf production company has teamed up with David Hudgins, who serves as showrunner for FBI: Most Wanted, along with Nicole Perlman from Captain Marvel and ex-CIA agent David Chasteen, to create this new show. Originally, it was intended that the CIA characters would debut in a slot previously reserved for an FBI episode on CBS. However, CBS is now considering granting the series a direct order instead of airing it as part of another show.

CBS has revealed that the CIA series will center around “a disciplined, rule-abiding FBI agent and a shrewd, streetwise CIA agent who are members of an unconventional undercover team tasked with dealing with and thwarting domestic terrorism within and near New York City.
