As a devoted fan of the FBI series, I can’t help but feel a pang of anticipation mixed with disappointment as we approach the holiday season. The thought of missing out on new episodes during this festive time is like receiving a lump of coal instead of my beloved crime-fighting drama.

It’d be great if we could touch base with the New York Field Office and follow along with the upcoming cases during the holiday season. Regrettably, it appears that there will be no more new episodes of FBI Season 7 in 2024.

The show has temporarily halted its airing during winter, so if you’d like to watch recent episodes again or catch up if you fell behind, you can do so on Paramount+. Occasionally, some reruns might appear on the network, but it won’t be until 2025 that we get new episodes.

When will FBI season 7 return with new episodes on CBS?

The upcoming episode won’t be aired until January 28th, Tuesday. Yes, this means a considerable gap between episodes. Interestingly, while many shows return in early or mid-January, CBS decided to move their winter finales to late December rather than earlier, which makes the break roughly the same length as other networks; however, it seems longer due to its timing.

The seventh season of FBI will carry on, delivering a thrilling dose of drama from diverse law enforcement squads every week at 8 p.m., Eastern and Pacific Time.

Of course, we don’t have details for the episode just yet. That’s not surprising with such a long break.

Why is FBI on such a long break?

It’s quite common for the extended winter hiatus because the show’s production requires it. Firstly, the cast and crew need this time off during this season, which results in fewer episodes being prepared in advance. If networks broadcasted episodes over Christmas, we would have to take a long break either in January or February to air these pre-recorded shows.

During this season, it’s wiser to take a break. Instead of sticking to routine TV, people prefer to socialize with friends or spend time with family by watching movies. This shift in viewing habits causes linear ratings to decrease. To avoid potential risks for shows and ensure there are enough episodes for the upcoming year, networks choose to take a break now.
