Rerun of Stage 2 at the CS2 Budapest Major
Actually, B8 previously lost to NAVI during the Budapest Major – it happened in Round 3 of Stage 2. However, the circumstances were different then. NAVI easily won with a 3-0 score, but B8 still had two more opportunities to qualify, and they were able to advance in their next match.
During Stage 3, NAVI faced two of the top contenders for the Major championship. They suffered a significant loss to FURIA with a score of 2-13. While NAVI put up a good fight against Team Vitality, they ultimately didn’t qualify for the Playoffs.
B8 has already proven they’re a strong contender by defeating Team Falcons in the first round. While they tied with both MOUZ and Vitality during Stage 3 – ultimately resulting in losses – they bounced back by defeating and eliminating paiN Gaming to advance to Round 5.

FaZe Clan needs to go back to using the simpler strategies they had at the beginning of the season if they want to defeat Passion UA. Passion UA has struggled against stronger teams recently.
Shaky favorites and shaky underdogs
FaZe had a rough start in Stage 1, but still managed to qualify. They then dominated in Stage 2, winning 3-0.
FaZe Clan is currently playing inconsistently, much like their performance at the recent Budapest Major. While they won their first match against Vitality, they subsequently lost to Spirit and The MongolZ. Fortunately, they’ve been able to handle less prominent teams, like 3DMAX, without much difficulty.
Man, the Budapest Major was a nail-biter for Passion UA! They were constantly on the edge of getting knocked out the whole time. They scraped into Stage 3 by winning a really close match, but it was against M80, which made it even more stressful.
To be here, Passion UA won over Team Liquid and Imperial. Their losses are to G2 and Falcons.

Man, this CS2 match is the highlight of Round 5 at the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 – it’s seriously anyone’s game. I have no idea who’s going to win, and that’s what makes it so exciting!
The last big clash at the Budapest Major’s Swiss Stage
G2 Esports started strong in the tournament, winning their first two matches against Passion UA and paiN Gaming. However, they then lost to FURIA and The MongolZ, putting them in a crucial match to stay in the competition.
Team Falcons will likely be disappointed with their loss to B8. This isn’t the first time – they also lost to B8 at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, which led to their elimination in Stage 2 of that tournament.
Falcons defeated Passion UA and Imperial, but these weren’t significant victories given the skill difference. They were also defeated by MOUZ in a crucial match during Stage 3 of the CS2 Budapest Major, eliminating them from contention.
After the initial matches, the CS2 StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 is pausing briefly. The competition will resume with the Playoffs, scheduled for December 11th to 14th, and promises even more thrilling action.
