Skylar Mae, who creates adult content, shared a story about her father finding out that one of his colleagues is paying to see her videos on OnlyFans.
The 22-year-old model, who is based in the US, told the Daily Mail that her father was shocked when a coworker, who was much older, unexpectedly confronted him during a work meeting.
She explained that a professional she encountered recognized her from a picture her father uses as the background on his phone.
My dad was in a business meeting, and the wallpaper on his phone suddenly appeared on the screen while he was sitting next to a coworker, according to my mom.
I was with my dad and sister when one of his coworkers – a man in his sixties – asked how we knew Skylar Mae. My dad simply replied, “That’s my daughter.”
Skylar explained that her co-worker initially dismissed her father’s story, even using harsh language, until her dad showed him baby pictures and other family photos as proof.
The woman, now living in Arizona and working as a sex worker, remembers a coworker reacting with amusement, saying, ‘That’s crazy! I really like that.’
Skylar says her father was initially surprised, but he now laughs about it. She’s thankful he was already aware of her work on OnlyFans.
‘Thank god my dad already knew about it, or else that would have been very embarrassing,’ she says.
He called me after being confronted and excitedly said, “You won’t believe what just happened!”
It’s amusing – during my dad’s final work meeting, he playfully FaceTime’d me and said to a colleague, “Hey, look, it’s Skylar!” The colleague immediately turned bright red.
Although some people might hesitate to share details about their adult film work with their parents, Skylar says she’s always been honest and open with hers.
My parents are okay with everything, they just prefer not to know the specifics. I tend to overshare with them – I tell them absolutely everything, really.
My family is really supportive, as long as I keep things reasonable and stay at home.
Honestly, it just gets me that she says it feels so good to be able to just… call them, you know? To not have to sneak around or be ashamed of what she does for work. It’s like, she can finally just be herself with them, and it’s everything! It’s such a small thing, but it means the world, seriously.
It’s great being able to call my parents, not just to chat, but also to get their advice on work – I definitely appreciate having their support.
The content creator revealed she started an OnlyFans account to help her parents financially.
Skylar started using the subscription service when she was a student, and now regularly sends her parents several thousand dollars each month.
The amount of money I send my parents each month varies depending on my income. My highest month, I sent them $30,000 just to help them out.
My parents are struggling with some serious health problems, and I provide them with financial assistance, particularly for my mother.
One of the main reasons I started using OnlyFans was to ease the financial burden on my family, allowing them to focus on their health and take things slower.
‘I’ve helped with other things too. I re-did their bathroom recently,’ she adds, before joking that her parents are ‘spoiled’.
Helping my parents is my biggest drive, because they gave me a wonderful childhood, and I want to give back to them.
‘It’s nice to give back to them for sure. I try every month to do something really cool for them.’
Skylar claims to make as much as six figures each month from her OnlyFans content, and she dedicates a lot of her spare time to learning about and trading stocks.
This American woman, who has brown hair, joined the website while she was a dental nursing student in college. She has since changed career paths and no longer works towards becoming a dental nurse.
