Fatboy Slim has revealed he no longer feels the spark for producing new music.
In a recent event at Butlin’s All Back to Minehead in November, the DJ, known as Norman Cook, who is now 60 and lost his mother this week, mentioned that he has completely redirected his attention towards live performances.
He confessed to The Sun that creating music is only possible when one has an intense passion for it, a feeling that motivates them from the instant they awaken each day.
It appears I no longer have the same enthusiasm as before. My interest in DJing and organizing events has diminished, and I find myself lacking the fervor I once had for creating music.
The disc jockey, who put out his latest studio album titled “Palookaville” back in 2004, clarified that his most recent singles are primarily intended to improve his performances as a DJ rather than serving as a precursor to another studio project.
TopMob has contacted Norman’s representatives for comment.
On the weekend, Norman played together with his son Woody Cook, a child he has with former radio host and wife Zoe Ball.
Norman revealed that at first, Woody had been discreet about his aspirations to be a DJ, fearing criticism from others who might assume he entered the profession solely due to being the son of a well-known figure.
Norman commented, “I could have introduced him all those years ago, but he wasn’t able to during our shared time. He desired to accomplish it independently. I believe we both harbor a fear of favoritism or nepotism.
It was confirmed on Saturday that Norman’s mother Ros had died.
On Instagram, Woody shared the tragic family news that she passed away on Christmas day.
Eight months have passed since the sad news about Ros came, following the loss of Zoe’s cherished mother Julia, who succumbed to pancreatic cancer in March and received her diagnosis earlier.

Woody shared a photo featuring him, his sister Nelly, and their grandparents; in the image, he was embracing his deceased grandmother.
Apart from that, he additionally posted a picture of him during a recent vacation in New York, which happened around the holidays, alongside his mom and sister.
In response to the post, Woody’s mom, Zoe, expressed her support by scattering heart emojis throughout the comment section.
The death marked the second grandmother of Woody’s to have died this year.
In April, it was announced that Zoe, a previous Radio 2 host, lost her mother, Julia, following a pancreatic cancer diagnosis in March.

Today, Woody shared an old picture featuring him, his sister Nelly, and Julia, along with the caption: “Bidding farewell to beloved Grandma J, thank you for embodying an extraordinary woman. You were the sole individual who never failed to send me a Valentine’s card.
In addition, Woody mentioned his late grandfather-in-law Rick Peckham, who passed away in 2013. He said, ‘I believe you’re with Rick now, so please pass on my warm embrace to him.’
As a devoted follower, I recall a moment when you were frantic in a helicopter above the jungle. He reassured us, saying, “If you ever lose your way, stick to the river!” Rest assured, you’ll meet him at the end following this guidance.
Zoe shared with her followers that she’s deeply saddened, almost desolate, upon the passing of her beloved mother. She held a heartfelt memorial service for her mother who passed away due to pancreatic cancer, and expressed her deepest feelings in a touching tribute after the funeral.
She posted family pictures on her Instagram, informing her audience that the day, despite its challenges, was absolutely perfect for her.

Zoe expressed her gratitude towards her two kids for delivering heartfelt eulogies, as well as her family members and admirers for their backing.

Zoe pledged to collect funds for cancer studies in the days to come, following her account of Julia’s passing, mere 12 weeks after receiving her diagnosis in February.
I and my amazing brother Jamie, also known as tikikontiki on social media, plan to raise funds in the future for the remarkable organizations @stpeterstjames and @pancreaticcanuk. We can only hope that more progress will be made to aid those who receive a similar diagnosis. Unfortunately, our dear mother was diagnosed in February and passed away just 12 weeks later.
The rotating collection of family photographs displayed various moments from Julia’s and Zoe’s childhood, including pictures of Zoe with her mom, all the way up to more contemporary images that portrayed Julia as “Grandma J”.
Zoe had previously announced her mum’s cancer diagnosis in March.
Afterward, Zoe informed her BBC Radio 2 audience that Julia was moved to a hospice. In a heartfelt gesture, she also played a Bon Jovi song in honor of the paramedics who provided assistance to Julia.
In April, the cherished broadcaster announced the passing of her mother via an Instagram post. As a tribute, she expressed: “Rest peacefully, my dearest Mama.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’d like to express my gratitude for the wisdom you’ve shared. You’ve shown us the art of love, unconditional and boundless; a lesson that instills courage and empathy in our hearts. Even on the gloomiest days, you’ve reminded us of the power of laughter – a priceless gift that can brighten our darkest hours.
