Fat Tony says he was cruelly trolled online when he shared photos of his face ‘smashed to pieces’ after suffering a brutal homophobic attack

Fat Tony revealed he was harshly bullied online after disclosing that he suffered severe facial injuries in an attack motivated by his sexual orientation.

In December 2024, a 37-year-old man named Zack Bradley punched a 60-year-old DJ twice in the face while he was performing, knocking him unconscious. Bradley reportedly used a homophobic slur before the attack.

Tony Marnoch, known as Fat Tony, said publicly discussing what happened on Wednesday was a major error in judgment.

So, I was chatting with Pete Wicks on his podcast, and I was telling him about this crazy backstage moment I had. I got into a bit of a disagreement with a DJ who was performing after me. We actually shook hands to try and smooth things over, but then his friend showed up and things got even more awkward!

He used a hateful slur against me, and things quickly got worse. I told him I wasn’t upset, but then he unexpectedly punched me. I was seriously injured and woke up in an ambulance.

Looking back, posting that online was a huge mistake. It just brought all the negativity and self-pity flooding back.

Tony explained that people react in different ways to difficult situations. Some are genuinely upset and express their disapproval, while others feel justified in the misfortune and hold onto past grievances.

The attack left me with severe facial injuries, requiring another hospital stay. I suffered a broken eye socket and cheekbone, but the emotional trauma has been even more damaging. I never wanted to be in a situation where something like this could happen.

Someone sent me the video, and it quickly spread around. It still bothers me deeply, to the point where I now need security, which feels a bit extreme.

I remember reading in The Daily Mail that Tony explained the situation like this: apparently, a friend of his used a really hateful, homophobic slur – he actually called Tony a name – and Tony understandably confronted him about it. It caused a big argument, but honestly, I can’t blame Tony for standing up for himself.

As I was trying to leave, Bradley suddenly punched me twice without warning. I then lost consciousness and woke up in an ambulance.

Bradley was arrested in the days after the attack and charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH).

He explained that one side of his face still hasn’t fully recovered. Occasionally, the muscles around his eye weaken, causing him to squint, and he sometimes experiences headaches.

Following the attack, Tony posted a video on Instagram to let his fans know he was cancelling an upcoming performance because he was injured.

The musician reported being assaulted last night while performing at a gig. Surprisingly, the attack happened in the DJ booth and was carried out by another DJ. They weren’t able to share many specifics about the incident.

I was knocked unconscious and had to go to the hospital, where I spent the entire night in the emergency room. As you can see, my face is badly damaged and swollen – it doesn’t look good at all.

Just letting you know I won’t be able to make it to my performances today because I’ve been told to stay home and rest so I can get better.

I’m incredibly upset that this happened, especially because we always approach things with good intentions and a desire to spread love, and it’s heartbreaking that anyone would respond with violence.

I’m so sorry, but I won’t be able to make it tonight. We’ll definitely find another time to get together. Sending you all my love – I’m really disappointed that I have to miss out.
