Fast & Furious fans divided by Vin Diesel saying new movie will bring back Brian
It’s been revealed by Vin Diesel that the beloved character Brian O’Conner, played by Paul Walker, will make a comeback in the final installment of the Fast and Furious series.
The high-octane car franchise will be bowing out with an 11th movie releasing in April 2027.
Over the weekend at FuelFest in Pomona, California, Diesel declared that the character Brian, previously played by the late Walker in six films, would return. Unfortunately, Walker passed away in a car accident in 2013.

According to Diesel, the studio requested that he deliver the final episode of Fast & Furious in April 2027, which he shared with his fans.
“I said, ‘Under three conditions’,” he continued.
First, we aim to re-establish the franchise in Los Angeles! Secondly, we want to rekindle the passion for street racing and automobile culture. Lastly, our goal is to reconnect Dom and Brian O’Conner.
There’s a variety of responses among fans regarding the report that Walker’s character will appear in some form during the final episode.
Reddit users who are fans of the Fast & Furious series have been expressing their opinions about the move to resurrect Brian following his last appearance in Furious 7.
One individual remarked that it was both predictable and a fitting choice. Considering aspects like production, plot, and fan reaction, Paul/Brian’s popularity is undeniable, with the emotional farewell in F7 being widely appreciated. However, enough time has since elapsed to make his return possible.
As a gamer, I’m thinking that might be their last trick up their sleeve. Meanwhile, another player posed a moral dilemma regarding the usage of Walker’s persona.
They expressed that they are fine with the character reappearing, as it’s common for roles to be recast. However, they raised a concern about using an actor’s likeness after their death without their explicit permission. Since we can’t know Paul’s preference on this matter, they prefer not to see it happen.
A viewer added their thoughts saying, “It seems appropriate to reintroduce Brian into the plot for the final film of the series. I’m eager to find out how they will manage this.
The upcoming movie won’t be the first time Walker’s Brian appears posthumously.
In the movie “Furious 7,” released in 2015, there was a touching tribute to a character in the final scene where Brian and Dom Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, drove away separately. Since Paul Walker unfortunately passed away during filming, his younger brothers Caleb and Cody stepped in to finish his scenes.
A new Fast & Furious movie will release in April 2027.
